Methods and systems to control a temperature of a selective catalytic reduction catalyst are disclosed. In one example, a diverter valve that includes two butterfly valves that are coupled together via a shaft is adjusted to control a temperature at an inlet of the selective catalytic reduction catalyst so that the selective catalytic reduction catalyst may operate efficiently.

Acoustic damper for gas turbine combustors with orthogonal slots

An acoustic damper includes a low porosity layer section and a housing. The low porosity layer section is formed in a liner of a gas turbine combustor and has an arrangement of elongated generally S-shaped slots formed therein. The housing has a plurality of feed apertures. The housing is coupled to the low porosity layer section thereby defining a cavity such that air outside the housing is configured to flow through the apertures and through the elongated generally S-shaped slots in the low porosity layer section, thereby transforming acoustic energy into thermal energy and aiding in providing an acoustic dampening effect for the gas turbine combustor during operation thereof.

Gas sensor

The maximum diameter D1 of the heat dissipating member (104) is equal to or less than the opposite side dimension D2 of the tool engagement portion (110B).

Electrically heated catalyst for vehicle exhaust system

An exhaust aftertreatment device includes a catalyst assembly having an electrically conductive carrier matrix and first and second electrodes. The first and second electrodes have terminals attached on opposing sides of the catalyst assembly to be electrically connected to each other through the carrier matrix and configured to generate heat. A first elongate heat sink extends axially along the first electrode and is configured to absorb a portion of the heat to mitigate formation of hotspots.

Oxygen sensor cooling duct

Methods, systems, and vehicles that control the temperature of a device included in the vehicle are presented herein. The temperature of the device is controlled by ventilating the device with drivetrain air, such as transmission cooling air. In some embodiments, the device is at a greater temperature than the drivetrain air, which cools the device. In other embodiments, the device is at a lesser temperature than the drivetrain air, which heats the device. The drivetrain air is provided to the device through an exhaust duct coupled to the vehicle's transmission. The drivetrain exhaust air is preferably circulated by the transmission. The transmission may be a continuously variable transmission. The device may be an oxygen sensor that is coupled to an engine exhaust pipe. The oxygen sensor is thermally coupled to the engine exhaust and the engine exhaust pipe, which are at greater temperatures than the transmission exhaust air.

The muffler housing (10) is elongated along a longitudinal axis of the housing. A housing jacket (40) encloses the muffler housing (10). At least one air guiding bulge (34) is provided on the housing jacket (40).

Heat conduction member

A heat conduction member includes: a cylindrical ceramic body, a metal pipe on the outer periphery side of the cylindrical ceramic body, and an intermediate member held between the cylindrical ceramic body and the metal pipe. The cylindrical ceramic body has passages passing through from one end face to the other end face and allowing the first fluid to flow therethrough. The intermediate member is made of material having at least a part having a Young's modulus of 150 Gpa or less.
