A heat shield for shielding of hot areas of a combustion engine. The heat shield has at least one metal sheet layer with a first and a second surface. The at least one metal sheet layer has at least one passage opening for the passage of a fastening element. The layer also has a sleeve which passes through the passage opening. The heat shield further has a decoupling element from flexible material arranged between a circumferential edge of the passage opening and the sleeve. The decoupling element and the sleeve each have a) an annular shank area, which penetrates the passage opening, b) a first collar, which on the first surface extends radially outward relative to the circumferential edge of the passage opening, and c) a second collar, which extends adjacent to the second surface radially outward relative to the circumferential edge of the passage opening.

A heat-insulated pipe assembly includes a pipe allowing a fluid to flow therethrough, and a heat insulating member covers at least a part of the pipe. The pipe is used in an exhaust gas purification system using an SCR catalyst. The heat insulating member has a closed-cell structure and suppresses an increase in a temperature of the fluid due to heat exchange with air. In the exhaust gas purification system using the SCR catalyst, the interior of the pipes is thermally insulated from the exterior by the heat insulating member. Thereby an increase in the temperature of the fluid flowing through the pipe due to heat exchange with air is suppressed.

An exhaust silencer includes a housing defining an interior and a tube disposed in the interior and defining an opening. A gas-flow deflector is configured to heat shield an interior wall of the housing from exhaust gases exiting the opening. The deflector has a deflector plate and a riser. The riser has a first portion connected to the interior wall and a second portion connected to a backside of the deflector plate to suspend the deflector plate in the interior such that the backside is completely spaced from the interior wall to form an insulating airgap therebetween.

An engine exhaust system is accommodated in a counterweight portion while minimizing a change in an existing arrangement of an engine, a radiator, a radiator fan, and the counterweight portion. A body has a work device provided at the front and the counterweight portion at the rear. A ventilation path provided in the counterweight portion includes an elevated part formed between a bottom of a front portion and a bottom of a rear portion. An exhaust gas purification device and a muffler, both having a tube-like outer shape, are disposed in the rear portion of the ventilation path so as to be positioned one above the other with the purification device lying above the muffler. Pipes, which extend straight respectively from an end circumferential to surface of the purification device and an end circumferential surface of the muffler toward each other, are connected via flanges.

The cooling fan, the engine, and the post-processing device are covered with a hood. The hood includes a shield. The shield covers a lower section of the post-processing device and one side of the engine. The shield is a perforated plate including a plurality of holes.
