Provided, among other things, is a method of treating cerebral spinal fluid comprising: (a) utilizing a channel of a pump to draw CSF from a subject's subarachnoid space of the subject's brain or spinal column; (b) subjecting the drawn CSF to membrane dialysis against a dialysate fluid to reduce immune or inflammatory mediators; and (c) utilizing a second channel of the synchronized dual channel pump to return the dialyzed CSF to the subarachnoid space of the subject's brain or spinal column. For example, the pump can be a synchronized dual channel pump. In one embodiment, the method further comprises: (d) removing cellular matter from the CSF to produce reduced cell content CSF, wherein the reduced cell content CSF is subjected to membrane dialysis.

Cassette with a sensor for determining the difference between a first and a second fluid stream

The invention relates to the balancing of fluid streams in a dialysis system. In particular the invention relates to a cassette for conveying a first and a second fluid stream in a dialysis system, wherein the first and the second fluid streams can be medical fluid streams such as for example dialysate streams or blood streams, wherein the cassette has a sensor as a device for balancing the first and the second fluid stream, and wherein the sensor has a first channel for the first fluid stream and a second channel for the second fluid stream. The invention further relates to a dialysis system, which is configured to accommodate at least one cassette which is configured as described above. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an arrangement by which two channels for the first and the second fluid streams are formed. In addition, the invention relates to a method for construction of the two channels or the arrangement.

FORMULATION, APPARATUS, AND METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF BRAIN TRAUMA
20190083532 · 2019-03-21 ·

A formulation comprising platelet rich plasma (PRP) for treatment of patients who have experienced brain injury, consisting of: a mixture of human plasma composed of pluripotent adult stem cells comprising very small embryonic like stem cells from autologous plasma or allogeneic plasma, D5W, glutathione, methylcobalamin, and regular insulin. The formulation is infused directly adjacent to a patient's brain through the nostrils or nares of the nasal cavity. Treatment using the formulation may be supplemented with one or more therapies including hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), cranial osteopathic therapy, intravenous (IV) nutrition, electroencephalographic (EEG) biofeedback, low level laser therapy (LLLT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), additional PRP pluripotent adult stem cell treatments, and a ketogenic diet and medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil therapy.

Selective removal of age-modified cells for treatment of atherosclerosis

Systems and methods for delivery of therapeutic agents

An iontophoresis system includes a preloaded reservoir containing one or more doses of a therapeutic agent. As a result, the therapeutic agent does not have to be loaded into the reservoir prior to use. In such a system, the preloaded reservoir is generally disposable. Various components of the iontophoresis system can be combined with the reservoir in a disposable cartridge that is selectively connectable to other, reusable components of the iontophoresis system. In addition, the entire iontophoresis system can be formed from one or more disposable, one-time-use modules.

Targeted delivery of aerosols of magnetized active agents

The invention provides compositions, kits and methods for depositing a composition comprising a plurality of magnetic particles, to a target site of a subject by delivering the composition via controlled inhalation to a region of the subject's respiratory tract and applying a magnetic field to a target site within the region of the subject's respiratory tract to capture the particles in said target site.

METHOD AND ARRANGEMENT FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION BASED NON-INVASIVE MONITORING OF A PERFORMANCE OF AN ANATOMIC OBJECT DURING AN OPERATION OR MEDICAL INTERVENTION
20180140376 · 2018-05-24 ·

An arrangement for electromagnetic radiation based non-invasive monitoring of an anatomic object during an operation includes at least one imaging device for obtaining at least two or more images of at least one surface point on a surface of the anatomic object over at least one fraction of a characteristic movement cycle from the surface of the anatomic object. In addition the arrangement includes an output for a display device or the display device, and a control unit for determining deformation based on movements of the at least one surface point over the at least one fraction of the cycle between the at least two or more images of the surface of the heart in function of time. Further changes in the deformation is determined or determined deformation is compared to reference deformation values to find any deviation in the performance or state of the deformation determined.

SYSTEM FOR REDUCING LOCAL DISCOMFORT

A device for targeted delivery of a substance to an airway may include a conduit and at least two applicators. The conduit may include a proximal end and a bifurcated distal portion having two distal ends. Each applicator may be coupled with one of the distal ends of the conduit and may be configured to direct the substance out of the applicator toward one of two sides of an airway. A method for targeted delivery of a substance to an airway may involve advancing a substance delivery device into the airway, contacting two sides of the airway with at least two applicators of the substance delivery device, such that each applicator contacts the airway near a glossopharyngeal nerve and/or a superior laryngeal nerve on each of the two sides of the airway, and delivering the substance through the applicators to contact the airway along the two sides.
