A multi-stage reconfigurable air intake and exhaust system for a piston engine having first and second rows of cylinders forming a V configuration. The system includes plural stage packages having inter-related components that can be connected and changed to form different air intake and exhaust gas configurations. There is particularly provided a Stage 1 package with first and second exhaust manifolds adapted to be respectively secured to the first and second rows of cylinders, and a Stage 2 package with a turbo exhaust manifold adapted for mounting a turbocharger, and also adapted to be secured to the first row of cylinders in lieu of the first exhaust manifold, and a crossover pipe assembly adapted for coupling the turbo exhaust manifold to the second exhaust manifold.

EXHAUST STRUCTURE FOR SADDLE RIDING VEHICLE

An exhaust structure for a saddle riding vehicle includes: an exhaust pipe connected to an internal combustion engine; and a catalyst disposed in the exhaust pipe; the exhaust pipe including a catalyst case unit housing the catalyst and upstream side exhaust pipes disposed on an upstream side of the catalyst case unit; the catalyst case unit having a larger diameter than the upstream side exhaust pipes; the upstream side exhaust pipes being connected to the catalyst case unit in a connecting portion located on an upstream side of the catalyst in a flow of exhaust; in the connecting portion, axes of the upstream side exhaust pipes and an axis of the catalyst case unit being in substantially right-angled positional relation to each other.

Exhaust layout for off road vehicle

An exhaust system for an off road vehicle includes a main intake pipe running in a generally longitudinal direction on the vehicle, receiving gasses from a first intake pipe for a forward cylinder and from a second intake pipe for a rearward cylinder of an mid-mounted internal combustion engine. A catalytic converter receives gasses from the main intake pipe. Instead of being mounted longitudinally, the catalytic converter extends in a transverse direction, at the rearward end of the exhaust system, behind the axis of the rear wheels. A muffler, located over the axis of the rear wheels, also extends in a transverse direction and receives gasses from the catalytic converter. The muffler outputs the gasses through a tailpipe, which is preferably above and extends wider than the main intake pipe.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD

An exhaust manifold for use with an internal combustion engine, the exhaust manifold including a body, one or more fluid passageways defined by the body, a valve in fluid communication with at least one of the one or more fluid passageways, the valve being adjustable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, a mounting bracket supported by the body, and an actuator in operable communication with the valve and configured to adjust the valve between the open and closed configurations, and wherein the actuator is coupled to the mounting bracket.

Exhaust system of internal combustion engine

In an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, an exhaust pipe is reliably bent and deformed during vehicle rear collision while improving drainage performance in the exhaust pipe in normal times. The exhaust system 1 includes a second pipe 17 corresponding to a downstream end part of an exhaust pipe 10 through which exhaust gas flows from an engine 2. The second pipe 17 includes: a fragile part 30 as a starting point of bending deformation of a tail pipe 13; and a partition plate 20 vertically dividing the inside of the second pipe 17 to form, under the partition plate 20, a lower passage 7 to flow water that accumulates in the exhaust pipe 10. The partition plate 20 is in a vicinity of the fragile part 30 and at a position not overlapping with the fragile part 30 in an axial direction of the second pipe 17.

Exhaust device for utility vehicle

An exhaust device for an engine is disposed beneath a loading platform at a position rearwardly of a seat of a utility vehicle. A plurality of exhaust pipes extend rearwardly from a front surface of an engine main body by way of one lateral side of the engine main body. The plurality of the exhaust pipes are collected by a single collecting tube. An exhaust conduit extends from the collecting tube in a direction rearwardly of the engine. A muffler is disposed in a rear portion of the vehicle and fluid connected with a downstream end of the exhaust conduit. The exhaust pipes, the collecting tube and the exhaust conduit are covered by a covering. The covering is fitted to the exhaust pipes and the exhaust conduit to thereby suppress a heat conduction from the exhaust pipes, the collecting tube and the exhaust conduit.

WORK VEHICLE

A work vehicle includes an engine, a particulate filter, and an oil separator. The particulate filter is connected to the engine to collect particulate matters contained in exhaust gas from the engine. The particulate filter is provided to overlap with the engine when viewed in a height direction along a height of the work vehicle. The oil separator is connected to the engine via a blow-by-gas discharge pipe to catch a liquid component in blow-by-gas from the engine. The oil separator is provided between the engine and the particulate filter to overlap with the particulate filter when viewed in the height direction.

Exhaust System For A Vehicle

An exhaust system for a vehicle including a deep snow exhaust outlet defined by a driveline structural member of the vehicle. If the vehicle includes a turbo charger and an exhaust silencer, the turbocharger and the exhaust silencer are coupled together without exhaust piping therebetween.

Straddled vehicle

In a vehicle, a rod of a waste gate valve actuator reciprocates along a virtual plane which is parallel to both the central axis of a connecting shaft of a turbocharger and the cylinder axis of a cylinder hole. When viewed in the left or right direction of the vehicle, a main catalyst of a catalyst portion is provided forward of the cylinder axis of the cylinder hole. The flow direction of the exhaust gas in the main catalyst intersects with the reciprocating direction of the rod of the waste gate valve actuator when viewed in a direction orthogonal to both the central axis of the connecting shaft of the turbocharger and the central axis of the cylinder hole.

Industrial vehicle

An object is to provide an industrial vehicle whereby it is possible to arrange an exhaust purifying apparatus in an efficient layout, and to achieve a high purifying performance. An industrial vehicle includes: a cargo loading device disposed on a front part of a vehicle; a counter weight disposed on a rear part of the vehicle; an engine housed in an engine room formed in front of the counter weight inside the vehicle; and an exhaust purifying device disposed inside the engine room and configured to purify exhaust gas of the engine.
