Exhaust device for internal combustion engine
An exhaust muffler is made up of a plurality of layers including an exhaust passage pipe and expansion chambers, and includes a front assembly and a rear assembly sub-assembled separately from the front assembly. The front assembly includes a front exhaust passage pipe, a front muffler body disposed in covering relation to the outside of the front exhaust passage pipe and cooperating with the front exhaust passage pipe in making up double-walled pipes, and an exhaust valve disposed in the front exhaust passage pipe. The rear assembly includes a rear exhaust passage pipe and a rear muffler body disposed in covering relation to the outside of the rear exhaust passage pipe and cooperating with the rear exhaust passage pipe in making up double-walled pipes. There is thus provided an exhaust device for an internal combustion engine in which the accuracy of a position where the exhaust valve is installed is high.
Muffler and its corresponding manufacturing method
A manufacturing method for a muffler includes: a trimming step, of cutting out a dogleg shaped muffler body member; a bending processing step of processing the muffler body member into a tube by advancing the muffler body member between an upper roller and a lower roller of a bending machine while adjusting an advancing direction with a guide and by changing a relative position of the upper roller and the lower roller; a first joining step of joining two ends of the tubularly-processed muffler body member in a long side direction; an insertion step of inserting an inner structural member into the inside of the tubularly-processed muffler body member; a second joining step of joining caps to opening portions of the tubularly-processed muffler body member; and a third joining step of joining an air intake joint and an exhaust pipe to the sealed muffler body member.
CYCLONIC THERMAL DIFFUSER AND METHOD
A diffuser is configured for use on a vehicle having an engine and an exhaust pipe. The diffuser includes a conduit with a first end configured to receive exhaust gases from the engine. A diffusion fitting is coupled to a second end of the conduit to receive exhaust gases discharged from the conduit. The diffusion fitting has an outer wall that includes a curved surface. The curved surface is configured to guide the exhaust gases discharged from the conduit about an axis so that exhaust gases exit a first side of the diffusion fitting rotating about the axis.
Exhaust muffler for transverse installation in a vehicle
An exhaust muffler for transverse installation in a vehicle includes a muffler housing (26) elongated in the direction of a housing longitudinal axis (G) with a housing jacket (28) and two front walls (30, 32). The two front walls (30, 32) are arranged at spaced locations from one another and define an interior (34) of the muffler with the housing jacket (28). At least one inlet pipe (36) leads into the interior (34) of the muffler and at least one outlet pipe (20) leads out of the interior (34) of the muffler. At least one front wall (30, 32) has at least one predetermined deformation area (50, 52).
Exhaust discharge system
An exhaust discharge system and method of assembling is disclosed. The exhaust discharge system may comprises an ejector tube and an exhaust stack. The ejector tube includes an outlet having an outlet cross-section. The ejector tube is configured to convey treated exhaust to the outlet. The outlet cross-section is oriented at an outlet angle to a first horizontal plane. The exhaust stack includes a first conduit and a second conduit. The second conduit includes an exit port. The exit-port cross-section is oblong in shape.
Structures for catalytic converters
Various structures for catalytic convertors are disclosed herein. The device includes an outer housing enclosing a catalytic core. The catalytic core can be formed in a myriad of ways. Flow paths through the core are constructed so that they are not straight-line paths from the inlet of the device to the outlet of the device. Pleated conformations and stacked core arrays are described that maximize the catalytic surface area in a given volume of housing. The application of the core to exhaust from diesel engines is also disclosed.
EXHAUST DISCHARGE SYSTEM
An exhaust discharge system is disclosed. The exhaust discharge system comprises an exhaust stack including a first conduit and a second conduit. The first conduit defines a first flow passageway and arranged around a first longitudinal axis. The first conduit including a skirt portion and a body portion disposed downstream of the skirt portion, and the skirt portion is oriented to slope outward from the body portion. The second conduit is disposed downstream of the first conduit. The second conduit defines a second flow passageway and is arranged around a second longitudinal axis, the second conduit includes a sidewall and an exit port, the exit port having an exit-port cross-section, wherein the exit-port cross-section is oblong in shape. The second longitudinal axis is disposed at an intersection angle to the first longitudinal axis, the intersection angle in a range of 125° to 150°. The exhaust stack is configured to convey treated exhaust from the skirt portion to the exit port.
CIRCULAR EXHAUST-DIFFUSER SYSTEM
The invention is a circular system with an integrated exhaust-diffuser that reveals an inlay construction of an air passage similar to a tunnel. The present invention through use of aerodynamics, completely releases the exhaust gas and soot layer from the system. It consists of three main parts: the receptacle chamber, the outer frame and the inner frame, which make up the whole construction. The exhaust gas entering the receptacle chamber is split in two and then it heads to the main body (5), where from a viscous form it turns to a sparse-thin form, then the compressed exhaust gas exits to the air tunnel through the slot (6). Above the slot, a short distance away is the stabilizer (3). The stabilizer (3) by compressing the exhaust air mixtures with high pressure is then mixed at the rear of the vehicle with ambient air inside the tunnel. When the vehicle is moving and developing high speed, the air-exhaust mixture is easily merged and the invention that way effectively removes exhaust gases from the system.
Muffler
A muffler for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a muffler housing (14) and at least one exhaust gas pipe group (19). The at least one exhaust gas pipe group (19) includes an outlet pipe (20) open towards an expansion chamber (26) formed in the muffler housing (14). Exhaust gas introduced via the at least one exhaust gas pipe group (19) leaves the muffler housing (16) via the outlet pipe (20). A first inlet pipe (38), of the at least one exhaust gas pipe group (19), has an inlet pipe end area (40), which is inserted into the outlet pipe (20) and extends in the outlet pipe (20). A second inlet pipe (48), of the at least one exhaust gas pipe group (19), is open towards the expansion chamber (26).
