Negative Pressure Charged Vibration Mechanism For Intermittent Wound Dressing Vibration
A system, apparatus and method for delivering negative pressure and vibrations proximate a wound site. The system comprises a dressing adapted to be fluidly coupled to the wound site and further adapted to translate vibrations to the wound site. A pad is coupled to a negative pressure source and to the dressing. The pad is also coupled to a vibration module. The system further comprises a drape covering the dressing and the pad and forming a seal between the wound site and the environment. The vibration module fluidly couples to the dressing and provides vibrations during application of negative pressure.
System and method for traversing an arterial occlusion
A system for traversing an arterial occlusion in an artery includes a housing sized to fit in a palm of a user, an elongate drive tube configured to be rotated by the housing, the drive tube including an axially extending passage, a cylindrical member, configured to be rotationally coupled to the drive tube, such that a distal tip of the cylindrical member may be delivered to a location adjacent the arterial occlusion when the cylindrical member is coupled to the drive tube, and wherein grasping and activating the housing such that the drive tube is rotated, thereby causes the distal tip of the cylindrical member to be rotated, the rotation of the distal tip including at least a component of linear oscillation.
High precision syringe with removable pump unit
A digital syringe is used with conventional polymer disposable syringe construction to be practical in the medical environment. Errors associated with the larger volumes of the syringes (which exacerbate minor errors in plunger position) and the flexibility and dimensional variations of the polymer plungers are accommodated by direct measurement of the syringe plunger position rather than indirect measurement of motor position and inference of syringe plunger position. This direct measurement eliminates mechanical tolerances (“stack up”) in the motor, gear train, and lead screw on plunger movement, an effect exacerbated by flexibility of the plunger and changes in syringe resistance and medicament viscosity, for example, with different medicaments or when the syringe is refrigerated. The digital syringe may be combined with the motor unit to provide additional versatility.

Heart pump drive and bearing
A heart pump including a housing defining a cavity including at least one inlet aligned with an axis of the cavity and at least one outlet provided in a circumferential outer wall of the cavity. An impeller is provided within the cavity, the impeller including a rotor and vanes mounted on the rotor for urging fluid from the inlet radially outwardly to the outlet. A drive is provided for rotating the impeller in the cavity, the drive including a plurality of circumferentially spaced permanent drive magnets mounted within and proximate a first face of the rotor, adjacent drive magnets having opposing polarities and a plurality of circumferentially spaced drive coils mounted within the housing proximate a first end of the cavity, each coil being wound on a respective drive stator pole of a drive stator and being substantially radially aligned with the drive magnets, the drive coils being configured to generate a drive magnetic field that cooperates with the drive magnets to thereby rotate the impeller. A magnetic bearing is also provided to thereby at least one of control an axial position of the impeller and at least partially restrain radial movement of the impeller.
VENTILATOR AND VENTILATOR VALVE
In a first embodiment, a ventilator has a housing with a first fixed port and a rotatable shutter configured to cooperate with the housing to enclose an interior of the housing. The shutter has a first orifice at a first radial distance from its axis of rotation. A stationary plate abuts the shutter and includes a first stationary orifice configured to at least partially align with the first orifice of the shutter over a first rotational distance of the shutter. In this way, the first orifice and the first stationary orifice form a first variable port. The stationary plate may have a second stationary orifice and the shutter may have a second orifice configured to at least partially align with the second stationary orifice over a second rotational distance of the shutter.
Breast pump device
A breast pump device (1) comprises an expression kit (2), a vacuum unit (3), and a conduit (5) for establishing an air path between an air outlet (27) of the expression kit (2) and an air inlet (35) of the vacuum unit (3). The expression kit (2) is equipped with a barrier portion (26) for preventing milk leakage from the expression kit (2) towards the hose (5) and the vacuum unit (3). In case some droplets of milk enter the barrier portion (26) and/or drawn through the barrier portion (26) by an ongoing pumping action, aspects of the behavior of the motor (32) for driving the pump (31) are influenced, and the insight that this happens is used for terminating operation of the motor (32) as soon as a too large deviation of one or more operational characteristics of the motor (32) with respect to a reference is found.

The present invention relates to an automated stimulation device for inducing a tactile inter-stimulus onset asynchrony (ISOA) effect in a subject suffering from apnea, bradycardia and/or hypoxia, the device comprising at least two actuators configured for contacting a body portion of the subject, and interspaced for producing an apparent tactile movement in the subject upon sequential induction of actuation, wherein the duration of the actuations and the overlap in actuation time between the at least two actuators is controlled to attain an inter stimulus onset asynchrony (ISOA).
