NEW NASAL RESPIRATORY APPARATUS
20230107688 · 2023-04-06 ·

A nasal ventilator assembly provides pressurized nasal oxygenation, ventilation and end tidal CO2 sampling with a movable piston, actuation of which opens and closes a vent to vent exhaled gasses to atmosphere. The piston is moved by force applied by gas supply and patient exhalation to a piston surface to actuate a spring to unblock the vent or vents to cause fluid communication between an air chamber and atmosphere. Also disclosed are an intelligent gas source and various valve configurations for use in the intelligent gas source for supplying gas to the pressurized nasal ventilator assembly or other nasal ventilation device.

Apparatus and method for establishing and/or releasing a medical threaded connection through which a fluid can flow

An apparatus is provided for producing and/or disengaging a fluid flow-capable medical threaded connection. The connection can be a Luer lock connection. The apparatus includes a first receiving device for receiving a first connecting element, and a second receiving device for receiving a second connecting element. The first receiving device and the second receiving device are rotatable relative to each other about a common screwing axis, and displaceable relative to each other along the screwing axis. The apparatus is designed to relatively move the first receiving device and the second receiving device toward and away from each other such that the first connecting element and the second connecting element can be screwed together or disengaged. An associated connecting element can be introduced into the first receiving device and/or into the second receiving device, in a radial direction relative to the screwing axis. A method is also provided.

Described is a method of stimulating airways of a mammal comprising: cyclically occluding a nasal air stream at a frequency rate between 50 Hz to 650 Hz. Also described is an apparatus for stimulating airways of a mammal, comprising: a fluid connection to each of a first and second naris of the mammal; and an occluding device configured to cyclically occlude a nasal air stream within each fluid connection at a frequency rate between 100 Hz to 650 Hz.

PISTON RESUSCITATOR AND/OR VENTILATOR SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR USING SAME

Resuscitation/ventilation systems that include a pressure chamber or cylinder may use a piston articulated within the pressure chamber or shaft to push air and/or a mixture of gas and air into and out of an airway circuit for the purpose of providing mechanical ventilation and/or artificial respiration to a patient. In some cases, the pressure chamber or cylinder may be resident within a canister that fits with a body. The canister may include a motor that moves a shaft connected to the piston up and down, or in and out, within the pressure chamber or cylinder and this movement of the piston may cause a vacuum within the airway circuit and/or the pushing of air or gas out of the airway circuit into a patient’s lung(s).

A unidirectional-driven drug infusion device, includes: a reservoir, a piston and a screw, the piston is arranged in the reservoir; a driving module which includes at least one driving wheel and at least one driving arm that cooperate with each other, the circumferential surface of the driving wheel is provided with wheel teeth; a power module coupled to the driving arm; a control module, connected to the power module, controls the power module to apply different driving powers to the driving arm, making the driving arm perform linear reciprocating motion; and a friction member which is in contact with the surface of the driving wheel. This device can fully utilize the internal space of the infusion device, and its weight and volume is reduced.

Devices and methods for managing chest drainage

Disclosed is a chest drainage system which reduces or eliminates pooling of blood/liquid and/or clogging/clotting in the drainage tube. Generally, the chest drainage system continuously monitors chest tube status and clears pooled liquid when necessary to restore negative pressure to the chest. The system may include a valve device which is located between the patient's chest tube and drainage tube and may be used with any standard chest tube. The chest drainage system also includes a controller for monitoring the pressure at or near the valve device and/or at or near the suction device, and possibly a pump for assisting in clearance of pooled liquid and/or clots. The controller may also control the valve device and/or suction device in response to pressure signals.
