Device for providing a liquid additive
A device for providing a liquid additive, including at least one metallic insert, which is coated, at least in sections, with a plastic coating made of polyethylene (PE). At least one plastic structure made of a high-density polyethylene (HD-PE) or polypropylene (PP) is sprayed onto the plastic coating.
Injector for reductant delivery unit having fluid volume reduction assembly
A fluid injector, including a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet and a fluid path from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet; a tube having an end at the fluid inlet; a filter disposed in the tube proximal to the fluid inlet; and a volume reduction member disposed in the tube downstream of the filter, contacting an inner surface of the tube and including a through-bore defining at least a portion of the fluid path, the bore having a smaller diameter than an inner diameter of the tube and the volume reduction member occupying a volume in the tube such that the volume reduction member reduces an amount of space for fluid in the fluid injector. A cap member, in which the filter is disposed, engages with the volume reduction member such that the filter, the volume reduction member and the cap form a single assembly member.
Device for accommodating a muffler for a two-wheel vehicle
A device for accommodating a muffler for a two-wheel vehicle, in particular a motorcycle, includes a holder part that can be fastened to a structural component of the two-wheel vehicle. The holder part retains the muffler. A plastic part is used as the holder part.
EXHAUST SUBSYSTEM WITH FIBER PIPE AND METHOD OF FORMING FIBER PIPE
A substantially metal-free exhaust subsystem includes an exterior housing formed of polymer; and a pipe formed of a layered fibers formed at least partially of glass, and bound by an inorganic binder. The fibers may be glass or ceramic, and may define micro-pores on the interior of the pipe that aid in absorbing acoustic energy, and thereby attenuating exhaust noise.
Urea sensor protection assembly and urea sensor system
A urea sensor protection assembly for protecting a fluid sensor of a urea sensor system comprises an inner cage supporting the fluid sensor and an outer cage. The inner cage has a first fixation element fixing the inner cage to a common holder. The outer cage has a filter capable of blocking a plurality of air bubbles and/or allowing a fluid to pass and a second fixation element fixing the outer cage to the common holder. The inner cage is at least partially arranged in an inner volume of the outer cage in an assembled state.
Exhaust silencer
An exhaust silencer for a motor vehicle is provided. In one example, the silencer comprises a noise-reducing structure and a heat sink to transfer heat from exhaust gases to the exterior of the silencer, the heat sink comprising two regions of fins which define a plurality of flow channels through the heat sink, the flow channels directing the flow of exhaust through the silencer from an inlet passage to an outlet passage. In this way, a temperature of the exhaust is reduced, and the silencer and downstream components of an exhaust system may be constructed of materials of a lower thermal tolerance.
Hedge trimmer
A hedge trimmer has at least one cutting blade and an internal combustion engine operatively connected to the at least one cutting blade so as to drive the at least one cutting blade reciprocatingly. The internal combustion engine has an exhaust gas muffler with an outlet for discharging exhaust gases from the exhaust gas muffler. A multi-part exhaust gas pipe is connected seal-tightly to the outlet of the exhaust gas muffler and connects the outlet of the exhaust gas muffler to an outlet opening where the exhaust gases exit from the hedge trimmer. The multi-part exhaust gas pipe has a plurality of pipe sections, including at least a first pipe section and a second pipe section, wherein the second pipe section is embodied separate from the first pipe section. At least one of the plurality of pipe sections is made of plastic material.
OVERMOULDING BY 3D PRINTING
A method for manufacturing a thermoplastic component for fuel systems or SCR systems includes the following steps: (1) molding and/or forming of a thermoplastic substrate from a first thermoplastic material, and (2) three-dimensional printing of a second thermoplastic material onto a first area of the thermoplastic substrate obtained after step (1). The first thermoplastic material of the thermoplastic substrate and the second thermoplastic material have a chemical compatibility.
Suction tube for a urea sensor
A suction tube for a urea sensor installed in a urea tank comprises a suction pipe and a cover. The suction pipe has a suction opening and a hole extending through a wall of the suction pipe. The cover is disposed on an outside of the suction pipe and covers the hole. When there is an under-pressure in the suction pipe compared to the urea tank, the cover abuts the suction pipe and seals the hole. When there is an overpressure in the suction pipe compared to the urea tank, the cover deforms and allows an excess urea solution to escape through the hole and flow back into the urea tank.
Electric immersion heater for diesel exhaust fluid reservoir
An immersion heater including an encapsulated, semi-conductive, heating element. The heating element may be a non-metallic, carbon-based material in the form of a monofilament, a yarn or bundle of semi-conductive fibers which may be twisted, braided fibers or yarns, or the like. The encapsulation may be in the form of a tube of one or more layers of encapsulation material(s) with the heating element inserted therein. Alternately, the heating element may be thermoplastic with semi-conductive carbon additive, and the heating element may be coated with one or more external layers of insulating encapsulation material(s). The encapsulation material may be a rubber or thermoplastic material with sufficient chemical resistance to be immersed in a reservoir of fluid subject to freezing or thickening at low temperatures, such as DEF. The heater may be thermoformed into a predetermined fixed shape.
