Cartridge for Mixing a Liquid Intended for Intracorporeal Use
The present invention is related to a cartridge. More in particular, the present invention relates to a cartridge by which a liquid held in the cartridge can be mixed, within the cartridge, with a further liquid held in the cartridge or with a pressurized gas. The present invention further relates to a cartridge system comprising such a cartridge and a device in which the cartridge can be releasably inserted, wherein the device is configured for providing pressurized gas(ses) to be used as propellant(s) for moving the liquid(s) inside the cartridge for the purpose of mixing the liquid(s), and/or to be used as gas to be mixed.
SYSTEMS AND APPROACHES FOR DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE RECONSTITUTION
Methods of preparing a drug for delivery and drug delivery systems for achieving the same are disclosed. A method of preparing a drug for delivery may include providing a diluent contained in a diluent container and providing a drug product contained within a drug product container. The method may further include fluidly connecting the diluent container and the drug product container. Additionally the method may include urging, via a pump, at least a portion of the diluent from the diluent container into the drug product container to at least partially reconstitute the drug product.
INFORMATION PROCESSING DEVICE, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM
An information processing device includes a control unit that generates a display image in which a profile and puff detection timing-related information are associated and displayed, the profile being information that relates to an operation performed by an inhalation device that uses a substrate to generate an aerosol, the operation generating the aerosol, and the puff detection timing being the timing at which user inhalation of the aerosol generated by the inhalation device was detected.
AIR PREHEATER FOR HUMIDIFICATION TUB
An apparatus for providing a humidified flow of pressurized breathable gas includes a humidification chamber having a heatable base surface and a humidification tub configured to contain a supply of water. The humidification tub includes a thermally conductive base and is removably positionable at least partially within the humidification chamber and onto the heatable base surface in order to allow for heating of the water in the humidification tub. The humidification chamber is configured to receive the flow of pressurized breathable gas and output the flow of pressurized breathable gas with increased humidity. The flow of pressurized breathable gas is pre-heated before entering the humidification tub by being configured to, after entering the humidification chamber and before entering the humidification tub, flow along at least a portion of the perimeter of the humidification tub.
Adaptive systems and methods for delivery of a medicament
Methods and apparatuses for the therapeutic delivery of nicotine for smoking cessation, harm reduction and/or substitution. Furthermore, the devices and methods herein are useful as an alternative, general nicotine delivery system in place of tobacco combustion or high temperature (over 150 degrees C.) products. In addition, the methods and devices herein are useful for the therapeutic delivery of a drug, for reducing the cumulative drug dose and hence its potential toxic side effects, while increasing its neurophysiological and/or physiological effects. Moreover, the devices and methods herein are useful for addiction treatment or reduction. In certain embodiments, the methods are adaptable to a medicament delivery device that determines a sequence of drug doses to be delivered. Dose information may be used to control operation of the device.
BLOOD TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Dialysis systems comprising actuators that cooperate to perform dialysis functions and sensors that cooperate to monitor dialysis functions are disclosed. According to one aspect, such a hemodialysis system comprises a user interface model layer, a therapy layer, below the user interface model layer, and a machine layer below the therapy layer. The user interface model layer is configured to manage the state of a graphical user interface and receive inputs from a graphical user interface. The therapy layer is configured to run state machines that generate therapy commands based at least in part on the inputs from the graphical user interface. The machine layer is configured to provide commands for the actuators based on the therapy commands.
PUMP CASSETTE AND METHODS FOR USE IN MEDICAL TREATMENT SYSTEM USING A PLURALITY OF FLUID LINES
A fluid handling cassette, such as that useable with an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) cycler device or other infusion apparatus, may include a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel. A patient line port may be arranged for connection to a patient line and be in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of said flowpaths, and an optional membrane may be attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber. In one embodiment, the membrane may have a pump chamber portion with an unstressed shape that generally conforms to the depression of the at least one pump chamber in the body and is arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in a useable space of the at least one pump chamber. One or more spacers may be provided in the at least one pump chamber to prevent the membrane from contacting an inner wall of the at least one pump chamber. The patient line, a drain line, and/or a heater bag line may be positioned to be separately occludable in relation to one or more solution lines that are connectable to the cassette.
Tri-state compact modular inhaler, vaporizer
A compact modular multifunctional inhalation device including a housing having an inlet port and an outlet port; a removable cartridge module adapted to seat within the housing, the cartridge including: a tray within the cartridge for holding a solid inhalant, a heating element mounted within the cartridge above and through the tray for heating the inhalant; and a removable modular electronic circuit adapted to seat within the housing to provide electrical current to the heating element. The heating element is a coil mounted within a chamber in thermal proximity to the solid inhalant. A quartz rod is mounted within the coil. A plunger is mounted within the cartridge to translate therein and compact the solid inhalant. In an alternative embodiment, dual channels and outlet ports are mounted in communication with an inlet port. In another embodiment, the cartridge is a split chamber cartridge with a split plunger mounted therein.
