DEVICE FOR REGULATING DISPLACEMENT
A displacement regulating device, which is adapted to be disposed on an exhaust pipe body of a vehicle. The displacement regulating device includes a regulating member, which has the function of regulating the displacement of an exhaust pipe and the effect of blocking the noise generated by the exhaust pipe. The displacement regulating device includes an operating device which could be held by a hand to move back and forth of a motorcycle. When the regulating member is operated to be away from the exhaust pipe, the noise volume generated by the exhaust pipe is not restricted. When the regulating member is located adjacent to the exhaust pipe, the noise volume generated by the exhaust pipe could be reduced.
Muffler for motor vehicles
A muffler (4) for motor vehicles comprising an intake pipe (8) of the exhaust gases that separates, at a fork (10), into a main pipe (12) and a secondary pipe (16), a muffler body (24) which delimits an expansion volume (28) and houses at least partly the main pipe (12) and the secondary pipe (16), wherein the intake pipe (8) of the exhaust gas is in fluid continuous connection with the main pipe (12) through the secondary pipe (16), and wherein the main pipe (12) comprises, downstream of the fork (10), a throttle valve (32) which allows or prevents a further fluidic connection of the intake pipe (8) of exhaust gas with the main pipe (12), and an output of the exhaust gases (40), for the expulsion of the gases from the muffler pipe (4).
EXHAUST SHIELD ASSEMBLY
An exhaust assembly for a vehicle. The exhaust assembly includes a header assembly including one or more head pipes, and a bridge with a first end and a second end that is opposite the first end. The first and second ends are secured to the header assembly. The exhaust assembly further includes a shield assembly including a shield shaped to cover a portion of the header assembly and a retainer secured to the shield and supported by the bridge by a planar clamp joint therebetween.
Exhaust Gas System for an Internal Combustion Engine
An exhaust gas system for an internal combustion engine of a single-track vehicle can be arranged on an exhaust gas outlet of a cylinder head. A first lambda probe close to the cylinder head is provided in the exhaust gas system and is arranged before an exhaust gas cleaning system in the flow direction of an exhaust gas. A second lambda probe is provided in the exhaust gas system after the exhaust gas cleaning system in the flow direction of the exhaust gas. The second lambda probe is arranged at a maximum distance away from the exhaust gas cleaning system equal to four times the diameter of the exhaust gas cleaning system. As a result of the design, the lambda probe is arranged in the non-visible region of the single-track vehicle, while simultaneously examining the quality of the exhaust gas cleaning.
Saddle type vehicle having water cooled engine
To provide a saddle type vehicle with a water cooled engine allowing simplification of the mounting structure for a thermostat and a check valve. A saddle type vehicle having a water cooled engine, includes: a thermostat provided in a cooling water path of the water cooled engine; and a check valve provided in a secondary air path supplying secondary air to an exhaust path of the water cooled engine, wherein a case of the thermostat and a case of the check valve are formed integrally. The case of the thermostat is formed in a cylindrical configuration, and the case of the check valve is integrally connected to the cylindrical side wall thereof.
EXHAUST PIPE DEVICE OF SADDLE-RIDING VEHICLE
An exhaust pipe device of a saddle-riding vehicle, wherein a power unit is fixed to a body frame of a saddle-riding vehicle, includes an upstream-side exhaust pipe device for discharging exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine, a catalyst built-in pipe connected to a downstream end of the upstream-side exhaust pipe device, and a downstream-side exhaust pipe device connected to a downstream end of the catalyst built-in pipe. An exhaust muffler is connected to a downstream end of the downstream-side exhaust pipe device. The downstream-side exhaust pipe device has a main pipe portion and a branch pipe portion on a downstream side of an upstream end thereof where a branching portion is provided. An exhaust control valve is provided to the branching portion where the branch pipe portion is branched from the main pipe portion. The branch pipe portion overlaps, as seen in side view, with a vehicle center-side wall of the main pipe portion, and downstream ends of both the main and branch pipe portions are connected to the exhaust muffler. The above arrangement provides an exhaust pipe device wherein a branch pipe portion can be formed in a compact shape as viewed in side view, whereby excellent external appearance property is obtained, and a valve shaft of the exhaust control valve at the branching portion can be easily arranged with a required banking angle.
Exhaust device provided with oxygen sensor
Problem: The objective of the present invention is to provide a technique to enable more accurate measurement of oxygen contained in an exhaust gas in an exhaust device provided with an oxygen sensor. Solution: A catalyst which cleans the exhaust gas is provided in an exhaust pipe in an exhaust device that includes a muffler coupled downstream of the exhaust pipe, and an oxygen sensor is mounted on a pipe portion that is disposed downstream from the catalyst and that is directly coupled to the catalyst. The oxygen sensor is provided substantially perpendicular to the axial direction of the pipe portion through which the exhaust gas flows. The oxygen sensor includes a detecting portion, the detecting portion is disposed in a recessed portion formed in the muffler, and a wire is disposed on an outer side of the recessed portion.
Motorcycle exhaust with catalytic converter
A catalytic converter for treatment of exhaust gases from a motorcycle engine includes a housing having an upstream end and a downstream end. A housing body extends between the upstream end and the downstream end. A catalyst mantle is positioned within the body of the housing such that a void is formed between the catalyst mantle and the housing body. A catalyst is positioned within the catalyst mantle. An insulator is positioned within the void between the housing body and the catalyst mantle.
Straddle type vehicle
A straddle type vehicle 1 having at least one reflecting portion 30 for reflecting a radar wave transmitted from a radar equipment. The reflecting portion 30 is provided on a cap member 40 mounted on a rear end portion 9b of an exhaust pipe 9, and the reflecting portion 30 is arranged below left and right tail lights 19 when viewed from a rear side of a vehicle body.
STRADDLED VEHICLE
A straddled vehicle, including: an engine, which includes a combustion chamber; a three-way catalyst, which is configured to purify exhaust gas exhausted from the combustion chamber; an upstream oxygen sensor, which is provided upstream of the three-way catalyst in a flow direction of the exhaust gas, and is configured to detect an oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas; a downstream oxygen sensor, which is provided downstream of the three-way catalyst in the flow direction of the exhaust gas, and is configured to detect the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas; and a controller, which includes a processor, and a non-transitory storage medium containing program instructions, execution of which by the processor causes the controller to execute a detachment determination process of determining whether the three-way catalyst is detached at least based on a signal input as a signal of the downstream oxygen sensor.
