METHOD FOR MONITORING AN EMISSION LEVEL IN A VEHICLE
A method for monitoring emissions in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine in a vehicle, comprising carrying out (520) multiple successive emission measurements for at least one component in the exhaust gas, wherein each of the emission measurements is respectively performed after a driving distance of predefined length is covered by the vehicle; storing (540) a distance-related emission value (E.sub.i), which was obtained (530) on the basis of the measurement, in a memory element (42, 200, 400) for each of the emission measurements; and forming (550) a smoothed emission level for a current point in time on the basis of multiple of the previously stored distance-related emission values, wherein more recent emission values are taken into consideration more strongly than emission values lying farther back in time in the formation of the smoothed emission level.
Method for Detecting a Manipulation of an Exhaust Gas System and Control Unit and Checking Unit
A method detects a manipulation of an exhaust gas system, in which measured values are sent to an external checking unit by a control unit of the exhaust gas system. In the external checking unit, an evaluation of the exhaust gas system as “manipulated” or as “not manipulated” takes place. Model values are formed in the control unit, which are at least partially formed from the measured values which are sent to the external checking unit. The external checking unit takes the model values and the measured values into consideration in the evaluation of the exhaust gas system.
EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A WORK VEHICLE
A work vehicle includes an engine, a battery, an exhaust gas purification system or device, and a notification device. The exhaust gas purification system or device is capable of performing a purification process purifying exhaust gas of the engine, and operates with electric power from the battery and performs an end process. The notification device provides notification that the exhaust gas purification system or device is performing the end process or that the end process is completed.

Systems and methods for air-fuel ratio imbalance monitor
Methods and systems are provided for an exhaust system. In one example, a method may include determining presence of a zone flow based on a comparison of a first exhaust sensor and a second exhaust sensor. The presence or absence of the zone flow may determine a rate at which an air-fuel ratio is adjusted.
Method and a control arrangement for a process of selective catalytic reduction after-treatment of an exhaust gas
Disclosed is a method for use in a process of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) after-treatment of an exhaust gas of an exhaust gas stream, where the process comprises the reduction of nitrogen oxides of the exhaust gas stream through the use of a reducing agent derived from an additive. The disclosed method comprises: defining an integrand to be the difference between the rate of injection of the additive and the rate of evaporation of the additive to the reducing agent multiplied by a coefficient (s), wherein the value of the coefficient (s) is between zero and one; producing an integral controller output proportional to the integral of the integrand with time; requesting a countermeasure based on the integral controller output to counteract solid deposits derived from the additive.
Oxygen sensor system and method
A method of operating an oxygen sensor system is provided where the system includes an oxygen sensor, the oxygen sensor including a pump cell, and wherein the oxygen sensor is connected to associated circuitry such that the associated circuitry controls operation of the pump cell. The pump cell includes a pump line connected to a pump electrode of the pump cell and a return line connected to a return electrode of the pump cell. The method includes, subsequent to a diagnostic process, raising the potential of the pump line for a predetermined period of time by injecting current onto the pump line.
Detecting reductant quality using a virtual sensor
A method for estimating a quality of reductant in an engine aftertreatment system for an engine using a virtual sensor, the method comprising: determining whether an enablement condition is met, wherein the enablement condition is one or more of: a reductant fill condition determined based on data received from one or more float sensors associated with the engine; a machine start condition determined based on machine speed data obtained from a speed sensor associated with the engine; and/or a rationality check condition determined based on data associated with a fault of one or more sensors associated with the engine; upon determining that the enablement condition is met, receiving NOx measurement data obtained from at least one NOx sensor; generating a reductant quality value based on the NOx measurement data; and outputting a reductant quality determination based on the reductant quality value.
