Integrated humidifier chamber and lid

A blower unit for use as part of an integrated blower/humidification system is described. The blower unit has an outer casing, which encloses and forms part of the blower unit, the casing including an air inlet vent. The blower unit further includes a humidifier compartment for receiving a humidifier unit with a separate gases inlet and outlet, the compartment having a heater base for heating the contents of the humidifier unit. The compartment also has a blower inlet port which aligns with the humidifier unit inlet in use, the blower providing a gases path through the casing between the inlet vent and the inlet port. The blower unit also includes a fan for providing a pressurised gases stream along the gases path, and a power supply unit for powering the fan. The gases path is routed over the power supply unit in order to provide a cooling air flow.

Point of delivery cold slurry generation

The present invention provides methods and devices for making a cold slurry at a point of delivery. A point of delivery device delivers cold slurry components to a location at or near a target tissue. The components are combined to form the cold slurry at or near the point of delivery. This approach to generating a cold slurry at the point of delivery allows the characteristics of the cold slurry, such as temperature, particle shape and particle size, to be maintained and controlled.

A vaporizer device includes an inhalation nozzle, a container containing the vaporizable material; and an atomizer arranged for carrying out a single continual atomization process for producing an inhalable vapor. A dosage reminder system for the vaporizer device includes a control module, a reminder determination unit configured for detecting a parameter during the single continual atomization process of the atomizer and a reminder element arranged for providing a reminder effect under control of the control module when the parameter reaches to a predetermined threshold.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MITIGATING NOISE AND VIBRATION IN A PORTABLE OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR

A portable oxygen concentrator includes a compressor and a controller. The compressor includes a motor, at least one chamber, and at least one piston operably coupled to the motor and movable within the at least one chamber. In some embodiments, the controller is configured to: determine actual motor speeds for commutations steps of the motor during a first rotational cycle; determine an average motor speed during the first rotational cycle; determine a voltage pattern based at least on a comparison of the average motor speed during the first rotational cycle and the actual motor speeds for the commutation steps of the motor during the first rotational cycle; and cause the voltage pattern to be applied to the motor during a second rotational cycle to reduce differences between applied motor torque and variable torque load imparted by the at least one piston.

HUMIDIFICATION OF RESPIRATORY GASES

A system for humidifying respiratory gases has a humidification apparatus, a humidification chamber, a heating apparatus and a sensor. The sensor is configured to determine a characteristic of the gases flow and communicate this to a controller which controls the power supplied to the heating apparatus with respect to information regarding the characteristic of the gases flow. A structure partially encloses the humidification chamber and allows energy loss through a wall of the humidification chamber. The humidification chamber may have features to promote heat loss through the wall of the chamber.

Portable system for the production of oxygen

A portable oxygen generating system is provided that comprises a reaction chamber, a feed system for providing and controlling hydrogen peroxide solution to the reaction chamber, and a cooling/condensing system for cooling the hot oxygen and water vapor leaving the reactor and condensing and removing water. The portable chemical oxygen generation system produces humidified, breathable oxygen, that is substantially free of hydrogen peroxide and other contaminants, at a controlled flow and temperature over an extended period of time.
