The sealing arrangement comprises a sealing member configured to be arranged in an annular space between a surface defining an opening for said rotatable shaft through a stationary wall of the combustion engine and an outer periphery surface of the rotatable shaft. The sealing member comprises a radially outer portion to be fixedly arranged to the surface defining said opening. The crankshaft gear comprises a portion provided with a smooth outer periphery surface and that the sealing member comprises a radially inner portion comprising at least one sealing lip configured to sealingly abut against the outer periphery surface of the crankshaft gear.

A seal retainer includes a main body and a guide wall. The main body includes a circular hole, an opposed surface opposed to the cylinder block, and a projection. The flange is arranged in the circular hole with the sealing member located between the circular hole and the flange. The projection includes a recess at a part of the projection in the circumferential direction of the circular hole. The recess extends from the distal end of the projection in an opposite direction from the cylinder block. The guide wall is arranged outward of the recess in a radial direction of the circular hole to guide air that flows in the circumferential direction of the circular hole from the radially outer side of the projection to the radially inner side of the projection through the recess.

A frame assembly and method for mounting a rear main crankshaft seal to a rear region of a crankshaft for a Porsche. The assembly provides an annular cylinder that firmly encircles a Porsche rear main crankshaft seal. The cylinder and the retained seal are configured to press into a crankshaft groove that forms at the rear region of the crankshaft. The cylinder maintains the seal in an annular shape, even after a long duration of use. The cylinder comprises a lubricant that coats the seal. Two brackets fasten the cylinder and the retained seal in a crankshaft groove at the crankshaft. The assembly is specifically designed for: a Porsche Boxter 996 made in the years of 1997-2010 or a Porsche Carrera 911 made in the years 2005-2010.
