Blood glucose control system switching without interruption of therapy delivery
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for switching an application executing on an ambulatory medical device to a new application without interrupting therapy provided by the ambulatory medical device to a subject. The ambulatory medical device may receive an indication that an update to an application executing on the ambulatory insulin pump is available, establish a communication connection to a host computing system, download and install the application update, while a prior version of the application continues to run. The disclosed systems and methods can confirm successful installation of the application update on the ambulatory medical device and switch control of the ambulatory medical device from the prior version to the new version of the application without interrupting therapy provided to the subject.
MEDICAL DEVICE WITH ADAPTIVE CORRECTION FOR UNCONTROLLABLE DELIVERY CONDITIONS
An infusion device is configured to monitor delivery conditions associated with a medication infusion, identify an infusion set used with the infusion device, determine that the delivery conditions modify operation of infusion set, and determine correction factors for modifying an operation of the device based on a modification of the operation of the infusion set by the monitored delivery conditions. According to various implementations, an operating parameter of the infusion device may be modified, including modifying a threshold for when the infusion device will experience an alarm condition.
Mobile selection system and treatment carriage
The invention relates to a mobile selection system for selecting medical accessories comprising a control system, a user interface and a treatment cart. The treatment cart comprises a plurality of storage devices each having at least two storage areas for a respective accessory type. The control system thereby implements a selection method having the following method steps. The treatment identifier of the treatment to be performed is determined in one method step via the user interface. In a further method step, a plurality of accessory set parameters which characterize a medical accessory set are determined on the basis of an accessory database and on the basis of the treatment identifier of the treatment to be performed. The treatment cart comprises a release mechanism, wherein the control system is designed to control the release mechanism so as to release those medical accessories for which at least one of the storage devices comprises storage area for their accessory types and which are characterized by the accessory set parameters on which the control is based.
DROPLET DELIVERY DEVICE WITH OPTIMIZED MIXING OF SUSPENSIONS
A droplet delivery device with an ejector mechanism and fluid reservoir includes an accelerometer to determine and communicate optimized mixing of fluid in the reservoir for inhalation of droplets, such as into the lungs, from the droplet delivery device.
Apparatus, system and method for fluid delivery
A fill adapter system for an infusion pump assembly. The system includes a reusable fill adapter base, the base including a volume control mechanism to adjust an available fill volume of a reservoir of the infusion pump assembly and a pump mechanism configured to pump air into a fluid vial. The system also includes a vial adapter assembly including a first needle configured to penetrate a septum of the fluid vial for fluidly coupling the pump mechanism to the fluid vial and a second needle having a first end configured to penetrate the septum of the fluid vial and a second end configured to penetrate a septum of the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly to allow transfer of fluid from the fluid vial to the reservoir of the infusion pump assembly in response to air being pumped into the fluid vial and a needle carriage adapted to carry the first needle and the second needle, wherein the needle carriage slidably attached to the interior of the vial adapter assembly, wherein the needle carriage adapted to slide from a vial end of the vial adapter to a receptacle end of the vial adapter.
MASSAGE DEVICE PROVIDING TINNITUS TREATMENT PROGRAM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
Disclosed are a massage device providing a tinnitus treatment program and a control method therefor. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, disclosed is a method by which a massage device provides a tinnitus treatment program. The method by which the massage device provides the tinnitus treatment program comprises the steps of: obtaining tinnitus information about a user; adjusting the magnitude of at least some of a plurality of frequency components included in a raw sound source and then flattening the raw sound source, so as to generate a first processed sound source; reducing the magnitude of at least some of a plurality of frequency components included in the first processed sound source on the basis of the obtained tinnitus information, so as to generate a tinnitus treatment sound source; and providing a tinnitus treatment program in which the generated tinnitus treatment sound source and tinnitus treatment massage are combined.
Fluid drain control apparatus, systems, and methods
Described herein is a safety system that works collectively with an automated fluid drain control apparatus and systems and clinical experts to establish protocols and methods for given patient populations to ensure that the drainage of fluid from patients is both safe and effective. It further enables the transportation of drain orders from systems external to the drain system and returns to them the drainage data on a periodic basis for inclusion into the patient chart.
Device for the Extraction of Body Fluid by Suction
The present invention relates to a device for the extraction of body fluid by suction, comprising a pump (2) with a pump housing (4) that comprises a suction opening (31), a container (6) with a container housing (8) that surrounds a reservoir (10) for storing the extracted body fluid and comprises an interface (84) in a container housing wall (82) for the communication between the suction opening (31) and the reservoir (10), a suction line port (74) that is connectable to a suction line (6) for the extraction of body fluid by suction, which is provided with a cover element covering the coupling device to improve the cleanliness and/or for the formation of functional surfaces for securing the suction line and/or releasing the coupling device.
INJECTION PENS FOR MEDICINE ADMINISTRATION AND TRACKING
A medicine injection pen includes a body, a drive member within the body and configured to move relative thereto upon actuation, a cartridge housing releasably engageable with the body and configured to retain a medicine cartridge, at least one sensor, and at least one detector. The medicine cartridge has a liquid medicine therein and includes a piston configured to slide therein. The drive member is configured to move relative to the body to urge the piston to slide within the medicine cartridge to dispense at least some of the liquid medicine from the medicine cartridge. The sensor(s) is configured to sense movement of the drive member relative to the body to enable determination of an amount of the liquid medicine dispensed. The detector(s) is configured to detect a gap between the drive member and the piston.
