System and method for turbocharger compressor surge control
An internal combustion engine having intake and exhaust manifolds, a turbocharger with a compressor, and at least one of: an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve and a variable geometry turbine (VGT). The system further includes a control computer configured to determine at least one of torque demand, pressure across the compressor, and pressure gradient ratio between the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold relative to one of exhaust manifold pressure, intake manifold pressure, and 1. The control computer performs at least one of: closing the EGR valve in response to the determined at least one of torque demand, pressure across the compressor, and pressure gradient ratio, and lessening restriction provided by the variable geometry turbine responsive to the determined at least one of torque demand, pressure across the compressor, and pressure gradient between the exhaust manifold and the intake manifold.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATED EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION IN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES
Systems and methods for treated exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) for an internal combustion engine are disclosed. The internal combustion engine has an exhaust manifold discharging exhaust gas and an intake manifold receiving forced air from a compressor. One or more exhaust treatment devices treat the exhaust gas and produce a treated exhaust gas. The EGR system includes an EGR line downstream of the one or more exhaust treatment devices and connected to the engine intake line downstream of the compressor, wherein the treated EGR line recirculates the treated exhaust gas to the intake manifold of the engine without passing through the compressor.

Cooling control system
A system including a cooling fan, an actuator with an actuator temperature sensor, and a controller is disclosed. The controller may be configured to receive temperature data from the actuator temperature sensor. The temperature data may include information relating to an actuator temperature of the actuator. The controller may be configured to compare the actuator temperature with a temperature threshold associated with the actuator, and control the cooling fan to adjust the actuator temperature based on determining that the actuator temperature satisfies the temperature threshold.

Detection of delta pressure sensor icing
An engine system includes a delta pressure sensor configured to sense a pressure difference across an engine exhaust handling component and an electronic control system configured to determine a cold sensor condition permitting icing of the delta pressure sensor, determine a sensed pressure deviation condition indicative of deviation of the pressure difference sensed by the delta pressure sensor from a deviation limit, dynamically model a sensor heat transfer condition indicative of heating or cooling of the delta pressure sensor, determine that the sensor heat transfer condition is indicative of insufficient heating of the delta pressure sensor to mitigate icing of the delta pressure sensor, and determine an icing condition of the delta pressure sensor.

Construction Machine
A filter (30) traps particulate matter in an exhaust gas. A filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) is provided in an inlet side of the filter (30). An EGR valve inlet side pressure sensor (22) is provided in an inlet side of an EGR valve (20). A regeneration controller (38C) determines whether or not the filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) is in failure based upon a difference between a pressure value detected by the filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) and a pressure value detected by the EGR valve inlet side pressure sensor (22). When the filter inlet side pressure sensor (34) is in failure, the regeneration controller (38C) performs control of regeneration treatment using a differential pressure calculated based upon a pressure value detected by the EGR valve inlet side pressure sensor (22) and a pressure value detected by the filter outlet side pressure sensor (35).
