The method includes machining the deposited material into a fluid injector component. Depositing can include laser cladding the material onto the piece of tube stock. The method can include placing or flowing braze into a braze joint location between the deposited material and another fluid injector component and forming the braze into a braze joint in the braze joint location.

Gas-assisted fluid atomizing injector

A liquid injector atomizer for direct injection in to the cylinder of an internal combustion engine is provided, with a supply of pressurized liquid a supply of pressurized gas, a body, and a nozzle with two or more orifices each for the liquid and the gas. Each orifice directs a jet of metered pressurized liquid or gas out of the injector body. At least two of the liquid jets are aimed at one or more collision points, where at least two gas jet streams collide at a same collision point or another collision point, thereby creating a finely atomized liquid.

A fuel injector assembly for use in repairing a damaged fuel injector cylinder in an internal combustion engine includes a replacement injector sleeve and a replacement injector lower body. The replacement injector sleeve is installed in the damaged fuel injector cylinder and covers a crack in the fuel injector cylinder sidewall or the fuel injector cylinder bottom wall to inhibit leakage of fuel into a cooling system of the internal combustion engine.

Coated high pressure gasoline injector seat to reduce particle emissions

A fuel injector has a seat and at least one seat passage. The seat includes an outer tip surface through which the seat passage extends. A non-thermally conducting coating is provided on at least a portion of the outer tip surface and not on surfaces defining the seat passage. The coating is constructed and arranged to be heated by combustion gases so that the outer tip surface reaches a temperature greater than a temperature that the outer tip surface would reach if the coating was not provided so as to cause evaporation of fuel that contacts the outer tip surface, The seat passage is constructed and arranged to not be substantially heated by conduction from the outer tip surface and to be cooled by fuel passing there-through so as to prevent deposits of combustion from accumulating on surfaces defining the seat passage.

A fuel heating apparatus and method are disclosed where a conductive coil is wrapped around an outer surface of at least a portion of a nozzle of a fuel injector. The coil and the nozzle are inductively cooperative with each other such that the coil, in response to a variable current through the coil, induces a heating of the nozzle. The inductively heated nozzle can heat fuel passing into an engine so as to cause the fuel to combust as it exits the heated nozzle. This arrangement allows for sparkles combustion of fuel in an internal combustion engine.

Fuel injector system and method for making air-filled diesel droplets

A fuel injector for an engine includes a connection to a fuel source, a nozzle which provides an outlet from the fuel injector, a fuel path from the fuel source to the nozzle, a valve between the fuel path and the nozzle, and a gas injection mechanism configured to insert a gas core into the fuel.

Provided is a high-pressure fuel supply device for an internal combustion engine, said device being capable of suppressing noise from collisions of a plunger rod and an air intake valve. A high-pressure fuel pump 108 comprises an intake valve, a plunger rod that is formed as a separate element from the intake valve, an elastic member that biases the plunger rod in the valve-opening direction of the intake valve, and a solenoid that draws the plunger rod in the valve-closing direction of the intake valve when supplied with electricity. A control device 101 has a first control unit that applies a first current to the solenoid in order to close the intake valve, and a second control unit that applies a second current to the solenoid before the plunger rod collides with the intake valve due to the biasing force of the elastic member.
