ENGINE GENERATOR
An engine generator coupled to an external battery. The engine generator includes: an engine; a motor generator configured to apply a starting force to the engine at a start of the engine, and to perform power generation by a driving force of the engine during driving of the engine;
a first step-down section and an engine accessory, the first step-down section being configured to step down a voltage of the external battery to obtain a first stepped-down voltage, and supply the first stepped-down voltage to the engine accessory; and a power converter that converts power of the external battery and supplies the converted power to the motor generator.
Methods and system for stopping an engine of a hybrid vehicle
A method and system for operating a vehicle that includes an automatic transmission with a torque converter clutch is described. In one example, the method includes predicting a time that the torque converter clutch will open so that stopping rotation of the engine may be requested before the torque converter clutch is opened. The stopping rotation of the engine is requested to conserve fuel.

DRIVE BELT TENSIONER FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE
An electric vehicle comprises a drive belt mounted about a motor output and about a drive wheel. The drive belt is driven by an output torque and experiences the output torque in a first torque direction and in a second torque direction. A belt tensioner comprises a tension pulley in contact with the drive belt, and a tensioning mechanism configured to displace the tension pulley in a first direction against the drive belt to tension the drive belt upon the drive belt experiencing the output torque in the first torque direction. The tensioning mechanism is configured to allow tension in the drive belt to displace the tension pulley in a second direction opposite to the first direction upon the drive belt experiencing the output torque in the second torque direction.

Methods and system for starting an engine
Systems and methods for starting an engine that may be started via two different electric machines are described. In one example, the method reserves an amount of torque that is based on a torque capability of a belt integrated starter/generator and the engine is started with the reserved torque if engine starting torque is greater than a torque capability of the belt integrated starter/generator.

Vehicle propulsion system
A vehicle propulsion system comprises a combustion engine with a flywheel secured to a crank shaft of the engine. A starter motor and a generator are combined in one electric machine having a stator rigidly connected to a vehicle frame fixed part and provided with windings connected to an arrangement storing electric energy for being fed with electric energy from the arrangement in motor operation of the electric machine and feeding electric energy to the arrangement in generator operation of the electric machine and a rotor connected to the flywheel so as to make the rotor and flywheel rotating in dependence of each other. At least one of the stator and rotor has a member projecting into a recess portion of the other so as to form air gaps for magnetic flux between the rotor and the stator on both sides of the projecting member.

Methods and systems for a two-speed accessory drive of an engine
Methods and systems are provided for engaging and disengaging an electromagnetic clutch of a two-speed accessory drive of an engine of a vehicle. In one example, a method comprises, responsive to an electrical demand being higher than a threshold electrical demand, operating an electric machine of the vehicle in a motor mode to reduce a speed of a grounding gear of a planetary gear set of a two-speed accessory drive (TSAD) of the vehicle; and engaging an electromagnetic clutch responsive to the speed of the grounding gear reaching a clutch engagement threshold speed.
