Internal combustion engine control apparatus
An internal combustion engine control apparatus includes: an ignition coil including a primary coil and a secondary coil that are magnetically coupled to each other; a first switch element for turning on and off a current to the primary coil; and a spark plug, for igniting an air-fuel mixture in an internal combustion engine by using a spark discharge caused by switching the first switch element from the ON state to the OFF state. The internal combustion engine control apparatus is configured to: determine occurrence of one of an abnormality in a discharge voltage and a misfire of the spark plug, when the calculated time duration in which a voltage of the primary coil after the switching of the first switch element from the ON state to the OFF state is above a predetermined comparison reference voltage does not fall within an allowable range.

Apparatus and method for controlling power supply to glow plug
Disclosed is a control apparatus for controlling power supply from a power source to a glow plug, including a plurality of semiconductor switching elements arranged to turn on and of power supply to the glow plug, a temperature fuse actuated by a temperature rise thereof to interrupt power supply to the semiconductor switching elements, a failure detection portion that detects the occurrence or non-occurrence of an ON failure in each of the semiconductor switching elements, and a control portion that performs drive control of the semiconductor switching elements. When the failure detection portion detects the ON failure in at least one of the semiconductor switching elements, the control portion increases the amount of heat generation of either the at least one of the semiconductor switching elements in which the ON failure is detected or any of the semiconductor switching elements in which the ON failure is not detected.
Ignition control apparatus
An ignition control device comprises: a first switching element having a power source side terminal connected to an other end side of a primary coil and a first ground side terminal connected to a ground side; a second switching element having a second ground side terminal connected to the other end side of the primary coil; a third switching element having a third power source side terminal connected to the second power source side terminal in the second switching element, and a third ground side terminal connected to the ground side; and an energy storage coil. The energy storage coil is an inductor interposed in an electric power line connecting a non-ground side output terminal in a DC power source and the third power source side terminal in the third switching element, and stores energy from the turning on of the third switching element.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING A COMPONENT EXCHANGE IN AN IGNITION SYSTEM OF A SPARK-IGNITED ENGINE

Electronic device and control system of an ignition coil in an internal combustion engine
An electronic device for controlling an ignition coil of an internal combustion engine includes a high voltage switch, a driving unit and a control unit. The driving unit controls the closure of the switch during charging energy in the primary winding and the opening of the switch during transferring energy from the primary winding to a secondary winding. A current measuring circuit is connected in series to a second terminal of the secondary winding to detect current generated on the secondary winding during the charging step and generate a signal representative of the detected current. The control unit receives the signal representative of the current detected by the measuring circuit, compares a relevant value of such signal with a predefined first reference value and activates a mode for detecting a soiling of the spark plug when the relevant value of the signal exceeds said predefined first reference value.
