A power generation device is adapted to be driven by ocean currents, and includes a craft body unit, a plurality of blade units, a plurality of power generators, and a plurality of sails. The blade units are mounted on the craft body unit, and are adapted to extend into the sea and to be driven rotatably by the ocean currents. The power generators are mounted on the craft body unit and connected respectively to the blade units for converting a kinetic energy of the blade units into electrical energy. The sails are mounted on the craft body unit for capturing the wind to maintain a location of the craft body unit against drifting from a force of the ocean currents applied to the craft body unit.

A mooring system (10) for use in mooring a marine device (24) within a fluid (12) subject to flow comprises a mooring line (16) to be secured to an anchor (18) and defining a tether point for a marine device (24), and a loading assembly (20) secured to the mooring line (16) and configured to generate hydrodynamic lift when exposed to flow to apply tension to the mooring line (16). In embodiments of the invention the loading assembly (20) is configured to also generate a buoyancy force, such that tension is applied to the mooring line (16) by a combination of the hydrodynamic lift force and the buoyancy force.

Collapsible frictionless vertical axis power generating wind/ocean current turbine

An improved turbine over the old horizontal and vertical axis turbines because of its ability to capture several times the amount of wind. The basic design and process of this new machine can also work in the ocean at capturing ocean currents. Being Omni-directional (not having to turn into the wind) gives it one efficiency over the 3 bladed turbine. Another efficiency all embodiments have is its frictionless exponent. This quality helps save on wear and tear and maintenance cost. Most if not all past turbines have a static presents, being built in one basic wind capturing position. This new turbine is more dynamic because it can hide from wind damage and then open to capture more wind than its predecessors.

The device, herein to be known as the HydroQueen, is a device to convert the kinetic energy of a fluid into electrical energy using a single or multiple helix shaped vertical paddles. The helix shaped vertical paddle rotates around its axis from the force placed on face of paddle by the movement of the fluid. The electricity is generated by the rotation of the paddle around its axis. The number, length, radii, and pitch of the paddles may vary depending on the location and/or application.
