FLUID FLOW ENERGY EXTRACTION SYSTEM AND METHOD RELATED THERETO
Disclosed is a system and method for both consumer and utility scale energy extraction from flow-based energy sources. The passive system may utilize directing perforations on a surface in order to create and air jet vortex generators. Alternatively the system may provide for flow through discrete orifices aligned with the span of an aerodynamic assembly in a co-flow direction, utilizing a Coanda effect. Further additional configurations include directing flow through a perforated surface skin that is near the trailing edge on the suction side. Even further are embodiments for blowing air directly out of the trailing edge of an airfoil. The disclosed systems and methods support a wide variety of scenarios for fluid flow energy extraction, such as wind or water flow, as well as for related products and services.
JOINT STRUCTURE AND WIND POWER GENERATION DEVICE
A joint structure includes a clutch unit interposed between a shaft joint and a shaft body which is one of an output shaft of a speed increaser and an input shaft of a power generator. The clutch unit includes: a shaft coupling portion rotating integrally with the shaft body; a joint coupling portion rotating integrally with the shaft joint; and a one-way clutch provided between the shaft coupling portion and the joint coupling portion. The one-way clutch makes a connection integrally rotatably between the shaft coupling portion and the joint coupling portion in a state in which a rotation speed of the output shaft is higher than that of the input shaft, and releases the connection between the shaft coupling portion and the joint coupling portion in a state in which the rotation speed of the output shaft is lower than that of the input shaft.

WIND POWERED COOLING SYSTEM
A wind powered cooling system, including a windmill including a transmission rotatably coupled to at least one vane, wherein wind moving past the vane causes the vane to rotate and transmit rotational energy to the transmission; and a cooling system including: a compressor system including a compressor mechanically coupled to the transmission, the compressor including a first member for translating rotational energy of the transmission to movement of the first member with respect to a second member so as to compress a refrigerant fluid stored therein; and an evaporator system including an evaporator in fluid communication with the compressor for expanding and evaporating compressed refrigerant fluid into cold refrigerant gas, wherein the cold refrigerant gas cools air surrounding the evaporator system by convection.
