A capsule administering assembly (100, 100) comprising an ingestible capsule (200, 200) for delivery of a mixed drug product to a subject user, and a capsule accessory device (300, 300), wherein the ingestible capsule is operable from a first attached state where the ingestible capsule (200, 200) is coupled relative to the capsule accessory device (300, 300), and a second detached state wherein the ingestible capsule (200, 200) is detached from the capsule accessory device (300, 300) to permit ingestion of the ingestible capsule. The capsule administering assembly (100, 100) comprises a first reservoir (231) holding a first drug component (A) and a second reservoir (332, 362), the second reservoir (332, 362) holding a second drug component (B).

Selective tissue removal tool for use in medical applications and methods for making and using

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of tissue removal and more particularly to methods and devices for use in medical applications involving selective tissue removal. One exemplary method includes the steps of providing a tissue cutting instrument capable of distinguishing between target tissue to be removed and non-target tissue, urging the instrument against the target tissue and the non-target tissue, and allowing the instrument to cut the target tissue while automatically avoiding cutting of non-target tissue. Various tools for carrying out this method are also described.

Rectal Injection Device And Method Of Operation Thereof

A rectal injection device configured to inject a liquid into the tissues around the internal anal sphincter of a rectum. The rectal injection device comprises: i) an elongated tube having a distal end and a proximal end; ii) a rounded head coupled to the distal end of the elongated tube; iii) a needle extending from the proximal end of the elongated tube into the rounded head, wherein a tip of the needle is aligned with a hole in the rounded head; and iv) an actuator mechanism configured to move the needle to a deployed position in which the tip of the needle extends through the hole and into the anal tissues and to move the needle to a retracted position in which the tip of the needle is withdrawn within the rounded head.

Rectal Injection Device And Method Of Operation Thereof

A rectal injection device and a method of operating a rectal injection device. In one embodiment, the device includes: (1) a handle having a trigger associated therewith, (2) an extension tube extending from the handle and terminating in a head, (3) at least two needles coupled to the head and configured to move relative thereto between a retracted position and a deployed position and (4) a pullrod coupling the trigger and the needles and configured to cause the needles to move.

Lower body cavity treatment methods and devices using carbon dioxide and saline

A method of treatment for mixed carbon dioxide, carbonic acid, saline and optional active additives for treating lower body cavity ailments includes delivery of dosage of the treatment at specified flow rates, using a) main housing having a hollow central area containing the dosage; b) a dosage dispenser head located at the distal end of the main housing, and having at least one flow channel for movement of the dosage from the main housing through the dosage dispenser head and to external of the dosage dispenser head; c) a dosage release control component located between the main housing and the dosage dispenser head to permit flow of the dosage through the dosage dispenser head in response to increased pressure against the dosage; and d) a pressure-changing moveable component on the main housing.

Endoluminal sealing devices and related methods of use

A medical system includes a porous body positioned at a target site within a subject, a tube including a wall defining a tube lumen, where the tube is connected to the porous body at a first end of the tube, and a sealing device to seal the target site from a body lumen. When the sealing device seals the target site from the body lumen, the tube extends from the target site into the body lumen.

Capsule device for delivery of active agent to gastrointestinal tract

An oral delivery capsule device for delivering an active agent to a part of a gastrointestinal (GI) tract of a subject may include a capsule body configured to travel along the GI tract. The capsule device may include a reservoir configured to contain an active agent for delivery to the GI tract of the subject. The oral delivery capsule device may include an actuation feature configured to provide a delivery force thereby causing the dispensing of the active agent. The oral delivery capsule device may include an actuation control feature configured to prevent actuation of the actuation feature under a first condition and allow actuation under a second condition.

THERAPEUTIC AGENT PREPARATIONS FOR DELIVERY INTO A LUMEN OF THE INTESTINAL TRACT USING A SWALLOWABLE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
20180193420 · 2018-07-12 · ·

Embodiments of the invention provide swallowable devices, preparations and methods for delivering drugs and other therapeutic agents within the GI tract. Many embodiments provide a swallowable device for delivering the agents. Particular embodiments provide a swallowable device such as a capsule for delivering drugs into the intestinal wall or other GI lumen. Embodiments also provide various drug preparations that are configured to be contained within the capsule, advanced from the capsule into the intestinal wall and degrade to release the drug into the bloodstream to produce a therapeutic effect. The preparation can be operably coupled to delivery means having a first configuration where the preparation is contained in the capsule and a second configuration where the preparation is advanced out of the capsule into the intestinal wall. Embodiments of the invention are particularly useful for the delivery of drugs which are poorly absorbed, tolerated and/or degraded within the GI tract.

CATHETER
