Vehicle comprising energy harvesting suspension system, and method for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy
11648809 · 2023-05-16 ·

A vehicle incorporates a gravity-assist energy harvesting suspension system including one or more gravitational positive displacement pumps. The positive displacement pump has a cylinder and a reciprocating piston inside the cylinder. The piston is adapted for movement along a compression stroke and an opposite extension stroke in response to a gravitational bounce of the vehicle when in motion. A turbine comprising a rotor shaft and attached blades is mounted relative to a distal end of a fluid outlet hose connected to the pump. Fluid discharged through the outlet hose acts on the blades, thereby moving and imparting rotational energy to the rotor shaft. A generator is operatively connected to the turbine, and is adapted for converting the rotational energy generated by the rotor shaft to electrical energy.

Vibration Energy Harvester
20170370352 · 2017-12-28 ·

A vibration energy harvester includes: a pair of electrodes provided so as to face opposite each other, with at least one of the pair of electrodes allowed to move; and an ion gel provided between the pair of electrodes, which is formed by using an ionic liquid, wherein: as an external vibration causes the electrode to move along a direction in which a distance between the pair of electrodes changes, power is generated through a change in an area of an electric double layer formed on two sides of an interface of each electrode and the ion gel.

COMPRESSOR FOR COMPRESSING HIGH-PRESSURED FLUIDS
20230204018 · 2023-06-29 ·

A compressor assembly for further pressurizing pressurized fluid using motion of waves, the pressurized fluid being pressurized by a previous compressor assembly, is provided. The compressor assembly includes: a compression piston having a first side and a second side; a first rod portion coupled to a buoyant member coupled to the first side of the compression piston, wherein movement of the buoyant member is transferred, via the first rod portion, into movement of the compression piston between a top and bottom end of a compression chamber; and a second rod portion coupled to the second side of the compression piston and including a terminal surface, wherein the second portion is sized such that the terminal surface is located within an equalizer assembly during an entire range of motion of the compression piston. A diameter of the second portion is equal to or greater than a diameter of the first portion.

Kinetic Powered Smartwatch
20170364038 · 2017-12-21 ·

A kinetically-powered wrist-worn electronic device is apparatus that includes a portable computing device, a wrist strap, a weight, and a generator. The portable computing device runs an operating system responsible for managing and distributes computing resources to various application software on the present invention. A wireless communication module accesses a wireless local area network (WLAN) or a wide area network (WAN) and enables the portable computing device to communicate with external computing devices. The wrist strap secures the portable computing device onto the wrist of the wearer. The weight uses a swinging mass which is designed to oscillate whenever the wearer moves his or her wrist. The generator harnesses and transforms the kinetic energy generated by the oscillating weight into usable electrical energy to power the portable computing device. The electrical energy is stored in a portable power which transfers the electrical energy to the portable computing device.
