A fluid cylinder for a reciprocating pump includes a body having inlet, outlet, and plunger bores. The inlet and outlet bores extend coaxially along a fluid passage axis. The plunger bore extends along a plunger bore axis that extends at an angle relative to the fluid passage axis. The body includes a crossbore at the intersection of the fluid passage axis and the plunger bore axis. The crossbore intersects the inlet, outlet, and plunger bores at respective inlet, outlet, and plunger bore ends. The inlet bore end and outlet bore ends are connected to the plunger bore end at respective first and second corners of the crossbore. The first corner includes a first linear bridge segment connected to the inlet and plunger bore ends by corresponding curved segments. The second corner includes a second linear bridge segment connected to the outlet and plunger bore ends by corresponding curved segments.

SURFACE DRIVEN DOWNHOLE PUMP SYSTEM
Systems to drive a downhole pump include an enclosure body with a magnetically transparent wall. A magnetic driver or a stationary member with coil windings in slots is disposed outside the enclosure body. A magnetic follower or a movable member with one or more permanent magnets is disposed inside the enclosure body such that the magnetic follower or movable member is exposed to a different environment compared to the magnetic driver or stationary member. The magnetic driver and magnetic follower, or the stationary member and movable member, are separated by a gap containing at least a portion of the magnetically transparent wall. A prime mover is operatively coupled to the magnetic driver. A rod couples the magnetic follower or the movable member to the downhole pump. Movement of the rod with the magnetic follower or the movable member operates the pump.
MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC PUMP FOR MOLTEN SALTS AND METHOD OF OPERATING
A magnetohydrodynamic pump for use in pumping molten salts that improves upon existing solutions is disclosed. The magnetohydrodynamic pump utilizes a linear induction motor with a cavity lined with ceramic and an interior piece forcing the molten salt to travel through an annular space where the magnetic. The magnetic field generated by the windings of the linear motor produce a wave of flux that will drive currents in the molten salt thus producing a force that will cause the fluid to pump. It is also an object of the disclosed concept to provide an improved method of operating a magnetohydrodynamic pump.
