Device to determine volume of fluid dispensed

An apparatus for determining the volume of fluid dispensed. The apparatus has an acoustic volume sensor that acoustically excites a reference volume and a measurement chamber with a loudspeaker and measures the acoustic response with microphones acoustically coupled to the reference and the measurement chamber. The loudspeaker and sensing microphones are connected to the measurement chamber by separate ports. A detachable dispensing chamber is coupled to the acoustic volume sensor. The volume of the fluid dispensed is determined by a processor based on the acoustic response of the microphones to acoustic excitement by the loudspeaker.

A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.

Scroll compressor

A scroll compressor includes a base seat portion which is integrally formed with one end surface of a shaft and in which a press-fitting hole exposing a first hole portion is formed. The base seat portion is disposed in a second portion of a penetration portion with a gap interposed between a drive bush body and the base seat portion.

Compressor having directed suction

A compressor includes a shell assembly, a compression mechanism and a conduit. The shell assembly defines a chamber. The compression mechanism is disposed within the chamber of the shell assembly and includes a first scroll member and a second scroll member in meshing engagement with each other. The second scroll member includes a suction inlet. The conduit directs working fluid into the suction inlet and includes a first end defining an inlet opening and a second end defining an outlet opening adjacent to the suction inlet. The second end includes a locating pin that extends outwardly therefrom.

Method for making patch-sized fluid delivery systems

A method for making a fluid delivery device including a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion is adapted to be secured to a user and includes a conduit fluidly connecting a reservoir containing a fluid and a moveable pumping member. The moveable pumping member can expand an expandable structure with the fluid. The reusable portion is selectively engageable to the disposable portion and contains a drive device for engaging the moveable pumping member of the disposable portion. The drive device has a rotatable pumping actuation member with a plurality of projections for engaging the moveable pumping member and thereby moving the fluid to expand the expandable structure.

Scroll fluid machine having separable main body unit and motor unit

A scroll-type fluid machine includes a motor unit and a main body. The motor unit includes a rotor, a stator, a shaft provided with an eccentric portion at a distal end of the shaft and configured to rotate integrally with the rotor, a main bearing configured to support the shaft, and a motor cover configured to house the rotor and the stator. The main bearing is fixed to an inside of the motor cover by a fixing flange. The main bearing supports the shaft and is located between the fixing flange and an end bracket on an opposite side of the main body unit with respect to the fixing flange.

Pumping fluid delivery systems and methods using force application assembly

A method of dispensing a therapeutic fluid from a line includes providing an inlet line connectable to an upstream fluid source. The inlet line is in downstream fluid communication with a pumping chamber. The pumping chamber has a pump outlet. The method also includes actuating a force application assembly so as to restrict retrograde flow of fluid through the inlet while pressurizing the pumping chamber to urge flow through the pump outlet. A corresponding system employs the method.

Elastomeric stator with modified fiber orientation
11806902 · 2023-11-07 · ·

A stator for use in a positive displacement motor or a progressing cavity pump. The stator comprises an elastomer mix preferably including rubber and a fiber reinforcement. The fiber reinforcement includes a plurality of fibers. The elastomer mix is formed into a stator via an injection molding process. The injection molding process includes a shear flow step in which shear flow is induced in the elastomer mix while the elastomer mix is in an uncured state. The shear flow modifies the orientation of the fibers into an advantageous modified fiber orientation. Shear flow is induced preferably via differential rotation of injection mold assembly elements during the injection molding process. Methods of manufacturing the stator are also disclosed.

Pump comprising an axially acting spring gasket

A pump for applying fluid to an assembly, the pump including: a pump housing featuring a circumferential wall surrounding a delivery chamber of the pump, an end-facing housing wall including an outer end-facing surface of the housing which faces axially away from the delivery chamber, an inlet and an outlet for the fluid which emerges on the outer end-facing surface of the housing; a delivery member, moveable within the delivery chamber, for delivering the fluid from a low-pressure side of the pump which includes the inlet to a high-pressure side of the pump which includes the outlet; and an axial gasket which fully surrounds the outlet, in order to separate it from the low-pressure side, in an axial view onto the end-facing wall of the housing. The axial gasket is a spring gasket in the form of a disc spring or hollow-profile spring or V-profile spring or bellows spring.
