Regenerative pump start stage for high speed centrifugal fuel pump

A centrifugal pump includes a selectable regenerative style pumping element, including a regenerative pump rotor and at least one side wall flow channel formed by a rotating disc. The regenerative pumping element is selectable between a first state in which the disc does not rotate with the impeller and a second state in which the disc rotates with the impeller.

SYSTEM FOR PRIMING A POOL PUMP
20210071670 · 2021-03-11 ·

A system for priming a pool pump includes piping that provides fluid communication to or from the pool pump. A valve is in fluid communication with the piping, and the valve has an open position that permits fluid flow through the valve and a shut position that prevents fluid flow through the valve. A priming pump is in fluid communication with the piping. The priming pump includes a suction and a discharge, and the suction of the priming pump connects to the piping upstream from the valve. A sensor generates a control signal reflective of time, fluid flow downstream from the priming pump, and/or fluid flow downstream from the pool pump. A controller receives the control signal, and when the control signal satisfies a predetermined criterion, the controller deenergizes the priming pump, repositions the valve to the open position, and/or energizes the pool pump.

Vane assembly of a gas turbine engine

A first stage vane array of a high pressure turbine that may be for a geared turbofan engine includes a plurality of airfoils circumferentially spaced from one-another and orientated about an engine axis. Each airfoil has a leading edge and a trailing edge with the trailing edge being circumferentially separated by the next adjacent trailing edge by a pitch distance. The leading a trailing edges of each one of the plurality of airfoils are axially separated by an axial chord length. A pitch-to-chord ratio of the pitch distance over the axial chord length is equal to or greater than 1.7.

High Flow and Low NPSHr Horizontal Pump with Priming Module

A horizontal pumping system has a motor, a pump driven by the motor and a priming module. The pump has a discharge on a first end of the pump, a suction end on a second end of the pump, and a plurality of stages between the suction end and the discharge. Each of the plurality of stages includes an impeller and a diffuser that encases the impeller. Each diffuser is an independent pressure vessel. The priming module may be a wet priming module or a dry priming module. The priming module permits the use of the horizontal pumping system in many applications in which the liquid is not naturally present at the pump intake.

A simple pneumatic ejector pump system allows for efficient transfer of a fluid such as water and has an air release port check valve assembly that opens as the chamber of the X-Pump empties so that it rapidly fills with water again. The air release port check valve assembly works with a check valve on a siphon tube to ensure that the pumping process occurs smoothly and at high efficiency.

Flood water removal system

Flood water removal systems including a motor, a vacuum generating device, a discharge pump, and a vacuum tank can be efficiently arranged to be transversely mounted to a vehicle. Certain flood water removal systems can include a supercharger driven by the engine to generate vacuum. The systems can include a valve to prevent collapse of a vacuum tank and maintain a predetermined vacuum pressure without varying the speed of the motor. The systems can also include a two-stage exhaust that blends exhaust from the blower with motor exhaust in a silencer to reduce noise generation for operation in residential or other noise-sensitive settings. The systems can also include a vacuum tank comprising a noise reduction baffle to further reduce noise generation.

Self-priming pump assembly

A self-priming pump assembly comprises a series connection of a liquid ring pump functioning as a rotating displacement pump and a normally-priming centrifugal pump. The self-priming pump assembly improves the fluid mechanics conditions for the flow of fluids toward and into a return line through the inclusion of a first connection opening in the meridian plane of the centrifugal pump that possesses a bulge enclosing a sector of the longitudinal axis of the first connection opening, where the bulge is one-sided and oriented toward a rotary axis of the pump assembly, and the bulge continuously expands, directly or indirectly, the first connection opening toward the impeller plane. At its end section facing the impeller plane, a transitional surface of the bulge continuously transitions into the lateral boundary surface, or an inner peripheral wall of the ring channel adjoining the lateral boundary surface.
