Fallback prevention valve apparatus, system and method
A fallback prevention valve apparatus, system and method is described. An electric submersible pump (ESP) fallback prevention system includes an ESP assembly positioned in a downhole well, the ESP assembly including production tubing extending between a centrifugal pump and a surface of the downhole well such that during operation of the ESP assembly production fluid flows upward from the centrifugal pump through the production tubing to the surface, the production tubing including a fallback valve actuatable by the flow of production fluid, the fallback valve actuatable between an open position, wherein production fluid flowing upward through the fallback valve actuates the fallback valve into the open position, and a closed position, wherein production fluid flowing downward through the fallback valve actuates the fallback valve into the closed position, the closed position blocking sand carried by the production fluid from falling into the centrifugal pump.
COMBINED SUMP PUMP WITH A BACKUP PUMP STRUCTURE
A combined sump pump with a backup pump structure includes a primary pump, a check valve device for the primary pump, a pipeline connection device arranged on one side of the primary pump and the backup pump, a backup pump, and a check valve device for the backup pump; the primary pump and the pipeline connection device are connected by the check valve of the primary pump, the backup pump and the pipeline connection device are connected by the check valve of the backup pump; the primary pump is equipped with a primary pump float switch, a primary pump float ball is provided under the primary pump float switch, a backup pump hoop is provided on the pipeline connection device, a backup pump float switch is provided on the backup pump hoop, and a backup pump float ball is provided under the backup pump float switch.
Multi-pump system with system check
Design solutions to mitigate the following four fatal flaws in the conventional pump system design; namely, (1) surprise pump-failure in single pump designs that can result in costly water damage; (2) the threat of fatal high voltage electrocution due to flooding; (3) grid power outage and no energy supply to support the needed pumping power that results in water damage; (4) foil odor from the standing water in the well after a period of low seeping rate with or without activated pumping. The principles described herein can completely mitigate the above four fatal design issues.
Self-Regulating Open Circuit Pump Unit
A self-regulating fire pump unit which can be controlled to operate under required conditions for sourcing a fire protection system such as sprinklers. The fire pump unit can be operated in accordance with a control curve based on detected pressure and flow. The control curve can include: a) a first setpoint of rated total value of the system load for the pressure and the flow, b) a second setpoint of a minimum partial percentage of the rated total value of the pressure at an over-percentage of the rated total value of the flow, c) a path which maintains the rated total value of the pressure for all values of the flow up to the first setpoint, d) a path between the first setpoint and the second setpoint, e) a path from the second setpoint which limits values of the pressure for values of the flow greater than the second setpoint.
Centrifugal pump with high and low inlet configurations
A reconfigurable pump includes a housing with inlet and outlet openings. An inlet adapter is mounted on the housing and includes an inlet passage communicating with the inlet opening. The inlet adapter is removably mounted on the housing and can be removed and repositioned for reconfiguring the pump between low-inlet and high-inlet configurations. In a low-inlet configuration the inlet passage is generally aligned with an impeller rotatably mounted in the housing. A check valve comprising a flapper valve is provided in the low-inlet configuration and prevents backflow. The flapper valve is removable for configuration in a high-inlet configuration with the inlet passage located generally above the impeller level. The inlet adapter can readily be repositioned from outside the pump housing between its low-inlet and high-inlet configurations.
Discharge/recirculation system for household appliances
The present invention relates to a discharge/recirculation system (1) for electric household appliances, comprising: a single pump assembly (10); which is selectively configurable to pump water from an intake path (7) either to a discharge path (8a) leading to the drains or to said recirculation path leading (8b) leading back to the washing chamber.
Impeller Pump
An impeller pump has a pump chamber with an inlet and an outlet, and an impeller in the pump chamber. An auxiliary outlet out of the pump chamber together with an auxiliary outlet flap is provided, the auxiliary outlet flap having a closed position and at least one open position and being rotatable or movable between the positions. In the closed position, the auxiliary outlet flap closes off the auxiliary outlet and, in each of the open positions, the auxiliary outlet flap at least partially opens the auxiliary outlet. The auxiliary outlet flap has an actuator and is subjected to force loading by the actuator, such that the auxiliary outlet flap is moved automatically from the closed position into one of the open positions if the auxiliary outlet flap is free from fluid flow in a direction of rotation of the impeller.
Below motor equalizer of electrical submersible pump and method for filling
An electrical submersible pump assembly has a pressure equalizer coupled to a lower end of a motor. The equalizer has a motor lubricant passage through which lubricant in the motor communicates with motor lubricant in the equalizing element. A valve element in the motor lubricant passage has a closed upper position and an open lower position. The valve element has a drive member on an upper end that mates with a shaft drive member on a lower end of the motor shaft while the valve element is in the upper position and disengages from the shaft drive member while the valve element is in the lower position. A locking feature between the valve element and the motor lubricant passage retains the valve element in the upper position and is releasable in response to rotation of the motor shaft in a selected direction.
