Method and system for detecting malfunction of a MEMS micropump
Method for detecting failure including possible under or over delivery of a micropump having at least an inlet valve, a pumping chamber with an inner pressure sensor and an outlet valve, said method comprising the determination of the pump tightness via the measurement of the pressure by said inner pressure sensor in said pumping chamber at least at certain intervals when the pump is inactive and the comparison with a value of reference.
BLOWER SYSTEM FOR BLOWING FLUID OFF OF A PASSING VEHICLE
Described is a blower system. The blower system includes one or more blowers. Each blower has an intake for providing air into an air chamber which houses an impeller. A gate covers each intake. Each gate is movable between a closed position in which it is pulled against the intake and an open position in which the gate is lifted off of the intake. A controller system is included that is operable for causing the gates to move from the closed to the open position when a vehicle is present or approaching and cause the gates to return to the closed position when no vehicle is present or leaving.
Valve and pump arrangement with valve
The invention relates to a pump arrangement, in particular a centrifugal pump, in particular a main coolant pump for power stations, comprising a pump housing (2), which defines an interior (3) with an inlet opening (4) for aspirating a conveying medium and with an outlet opening (5) for expelling the conveying medium and which also defines a chamber (7) that is connected to the interior (3), a seal water system (22), which has a first conduit system (29) in order to supply seal water into the chamber (7) defined by the pump housing (2), a second conduit system (32) for evacuating a controlled leakage flow from the chamber (7) defined by the pump housing (2), and a protective valve (35), which is arranged in the second conduit system (32) in order to block the leakage flow that is evacuated from the chamber (7). The invention further relates to a protective valve (35) and to the use of a protective valve (35) in a pump arrangement (1).
Water Distribution Network
In a water distribution network having at least one pump for distributing water over the network, the pump is driven by an electric motor and a variable speed device, and there is a device for operating the pump in phases. On starting the pump in a first starting phase the pump speed rises rapidly from zero to a threshold speed between zero and a maximum pump speed, in a second starting phase the threshold speed is maintained, in a third starting phase the pump speed is increased more slowly to a maximum speed, and in a fourth operating phase the maximum speed is maintained. On stopping the pump, in a first stopping phase the pump speed decreases gradually from a maximum speed to an intermediate speed, and in a second stopping phase the pump speed decreases rapidly from the intermediate speed to zero.
Water pump with check valve
A water pump has a check valve with a valve body movable in a direction of a valve axis of the check valve between an open position of the check valve and a closed position of the check valve. An actuating device is connected with the check valve and has an operating element that is movable coaxially to the valve axis. The operating element is operatively connected to the valve body and arranged such that the operating element, by applying a coaxial force to the valve body, transfers the valve body into a venting position of the check valve.
PUMP HOUSING WITH AN INTERIOR FOR ACCOMMODATING A PUMP ROTOR
In a pump housing having an interior for accommodating a pump rotor, which may be transferred from a radially compressed state into a radially expanded state, and comprises a housing skin revolving in circumferential direction, as well as at least one reinforcement element, a stretch-resistant element revolving in circumferential direction is provided, which is stretched less than 5% in the expanded state as opposed to the force-free state in circumferential direction, and which limits any further expansion of the pump housing in radial direction.
Actuation method and efficiency
A multi-stage centrifugal pump assembly allows for multiple fixed ratio pressure levels. The multiple pressure levels permit optimization of actuation loops without the need for pressure regulators, and can be used directly by the actuators.
Filter booster pump combination
A swimming pool filtration systems and particularly toward a variable speed pump equipped with an electronically commutated motor, capable of producing variable water pressure heads suitable for operating swimming pool pressure cleaners as well as swimming pool filters. An electronically controlled electric actuating diverter valve is used to divert water flow to the filter or the pressure cleaner.
ELECTROMAGNETIC CARTRIDGE SEAL
Embodiments include an apparatus and techniques for operating an electromagnetic cartridge seal. Embodiments include operating a cartridge seal in one of a plurality of modes, and receiving a signal at a force applying mechanism of the cartridge seal, the force applying mechanism being coupled to a primary sealing component of the cartridge seal. Embodiments also include controlling the force applying mechanism based at least in part on the received signal.
MULTI-PUMP SYSTEM WITH SYSTEM CHECK
Design solutions to mitigate the following four fatal flaws in the conventional pump system design; namely, (1) surprise pump-failure in single pump designs that can result in costly water damage; (2) the threat of fatal high voltage electrocution due to flooding; (3) grid power outage and no energy supply to support the needed pumping power that results in water damage; (4) foil odor from the standing water in the well after a period of low seeping rate with or without activated pumping. The principles described herein can completely mitigate the above four fatal design issues.
