11668285 · 2023-06-06 · ·

A method for diagnosing a lubricant containing an additive, is executed by an information processor. Chromaticity information of the lubricant which is a diagnosis target is obtained from an input device, the chromaticity information is obtained by an optical sensor, and a storage device stores a deterioration curve of the lubricant which is the diagnosis target, the deterioration curve is determined in advance regarding a transition in a chromaticity coordinate caused by a deterioration, and a chromaticity coordinate corresponding to a limit contamination level determined in advance using a contaminated lubricant. The processing device obtains a chromaticity coordinate of the lubricant from the chromaticity information and uses a relative contamination level obtained from a distance of the chromaticity coordinate of the lubricant from the deterioration curve and a distance of the chromaticity coordinate corresponding to the limit contamination level from the deterioration curve.

Hub assembly for horizontal axis, fluid-driven turbine enabling teetering
09771923 · 2017-09-26 ·

A hub assembly permits a rotor portion of a horizontal axis, fluid-driven turbine (e.g., with three or more blades) to teeter relative to a hub shaft. An outer hub member configured to receive turbine blades is permitted to rotate relative to the inner hub member. Multiple rocker members interposed between the inner hub member and the outer hub member include curved end surfaces that are configured to permit pivotal movement between the rocker members and corresponding features protruding from a hub shaft of the inner hub member. Torque receiving surfaces associated with features protruding from the hub shaft are permitted to slide relative to torque transmitting surfaces of the rocker members.

Bearing arrangement for a wind turbine and wind turbine

Provided is a bearing arrangement for a wind turbine including a bearing housing and a drive shaft, whereby the drive shaft is arranged within the bearing housing in an axial direction along a longitudinal axis of the bearing housing. The bearing arrangement further includes a downwind bearing and an upwind bearing, whereby the downwind bearing and the upwind bearing are arranged between the bearing housing and the drive shaft. The bearing housing includes a drain outlet arranged in a bottom part of the bearing housing, the bottom part of the bearing housing being located underneath the drive shaft in a direction of gravity, whereby at least one inner side of the bottom part of the bearing housing is arranged so as to form a funnel, whereby the drain outlet is an opening of the formed funnel.

A CONTAMINANT SENSOR FOR DETECTING MAGNETIZABLE CONTAMINANTS IN LUBRICANT FLOW
20170254794 · 2017-09-07 ·

A contaminant sensor (1) for detecting magnetizable contaminants (7) present in a lubricant flow is disclosed. A permanent magnet (3) is arranged movably inside a sensor housing (2). A sensor element (6, 11, 13), e.g. in the form of a distance sensor (6) or a pressure sensor (11), is arranged to detect a displacement of the permanent magnet (3) inside the sensor housing (2), and an indicator is arranged to generate an alert signal when a displacement and/or a rate of change of displacement of the permanent magnet (3) inside the sensor housing (2) exceeds a pre-defined threshold value. The permanent magnet (3) is arranged to move inside the sensor housing (2) in response to magnetizable contaminants (7) collected on an outer surface of the sensor housing (2).

Wind turbine generator with an electric generator bearing assembly

The present invention relates to wind turbine generator (WTG) with a ball bearing (31) supporting a rotating shaft. A suction provider (35), e.g. a rotating disc, is provided next to the ball bearing. An opposite grease reservoir (41) supplies the ball bearing with grease during rotational operation, the grease reservoir further having a shape so that a point (43) of the at least one grease reservoir being closest to the rotating shaft and a grease inlet of the ball bearing are adjoining. The suction provider creates a pressure which is slightly lower than atmospheric pressure, thereby creating a suction of grease (47) through the ball bearing from the grease reservoir, which aids in distributing the grease in the ball bearing. The invention provides an improved ball bearing having an extended lifetime of up to e.g. 7-10 years.

Lubrication system for a compressor

An oil flooded screw compressor includes a housing with an inlet and an outlet, and a rotor supported within the housing by a bearing. The rotor is rotatable to compress air from the inlet to the outlet when the compressor is in an operating state, and the rotor is rotatable without compressing air when the compressor is in an idle state. The compressor also includes a pump configured to supply oil to the bearing only when the compressor is in the idle state.
