VACUUM INFILTRATION SYSTEM FOR CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITES
A method for infiltrating a porous preform for a gas turbine engine is provided, which comprises providing a chamber for infiltrating a porous preform. The porous preform is positioned within a slurry confinement fixture within the chamber. A vacuum is created in the chamber. A solvent is added to the slurry confinement fixture until a pressure in the chamber is substantially equal to an equilibrium partial pressure of the solvent. A slurry is added to the slurry confinement fixture. The slurry includes the solvent and a particulate. The pressure in the chamber is increased, and the slurry is urged into the porous preform.
Fiber reinforced elastomeric stator
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a composition useful for forming a stator or a portion thereof. The composition may include: a curable elastomer; a fiber or fibrous compound; a fiber dispersion compound; and optionally carbon black.
CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE AEROFOIL WITH IMPACT REINFORCEMENTS
A turbine blade of ceramic matrix composite material construction adapted for use in a gas turbine engine includes an airfoil assembly. The airfoil assembly includes an airfoil and at least one reinforcement inset coupled to the airfoil assembly. The reinforcement inset is configured to resist damage to the airfoil assembly due to objects impacting the airfoil assembly.
SEAL RING FOR TURBINE SHROUD IN GAS TURBINE ENGINE WITH ARCH-STYLE SUPPORT
A blade track assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a plurality of blade track segments. The blade track segments are arranged circumferentially around a central axis to form a blade track. Each of the plurality of blade track segments includes a first circumferential end face, a second circumferential end face opposite the first circumferential end face, a radially-outer surface, and a radially inner surface opposite the radially-outer surface.
Fuel Pump and Fuel Delivery Unit
A fuel pump includes: an electric motor; a pump stage drivable by the electric motor; and a fuel pump housing configured to accommodate the electric motor and the pump stage. The fuel pump housing has a first housing part configured to accommodate the electric motor and a second housing part configured to accommodate the pump stage. One or both of the first housing part and the second housing part are made of a conductive plastic adapted to dissipate static charges to a ground potential.
Graphene enhanced elastomeric stator
An enhanced elastomeric stator assembly and method of making the same is disclosed. The elastomeric stator may be structurally, thermally, and/or chemically enhanced through the incorporation of graphene particles, cross-linkable polymers, coupling agents that extend cross-links, and by the reduction of filler material. The graphene particles can be incorporated in functionalized or non-functionalized form or in a combination thereof, the functionalized graphene increasing the number of cross-links in the overall structure, thereby enhancing the structural robustness of the elastomeric stator. The compound can be formulated to have a relatively low viscosity and other characteristics that allow the material to flow through a mould cavity.
BUSH BEARING HAVING OUTER LUBRICATING LAYER, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR AND SCROLL COMPRESSOR HAVING SAME APPLIED THERETO
A bush bearing having an outer lubricating layer, a manufacturing method therefor and a scroll compressor having same applied thereto, according to the present disclosure, includes a bush bearing comprising: a base member which has a cylindrical shape having no separated surfaces along the circumferential direction; and a lubricating member which is formed from a material having a lower rigidity and more excellent lubricity than the base member, and has a cylindrical shape having no separated surfaces along the circumferential direction by being integrally provided to the outer circumferential surface of the base member, wherein the cylindricity of the outer circumferential surface of the lubricating member satisfies a value that is within 0.6% of the average thickness of the lubricating member, and the lubricating member has carbon fiber contained in a resin base, wherein the carbon fiber has cut surfaces exposed on both ends of the lubricating member.
ELASTOMERIC STATOR WITH MODIFIED FIBER ORIENTATION
A stator for use in a positive displacement motor or a progressing cavity pump. The stator comprises an elastomer mix preferably including rubber and a fiber reinforcement. The fiber reinforcement includes a plurality of fibers. The elastomer mix is formed into a stator via an injection molding process. The injection molding process includes a shear flow step in which shear flow is induced in the elastomer mix while the elastomer mix is in an uncured state. The shear flow modifies the orientation of the fibers into an advantageous modified fiber orientation. Shear flow is induced preferably via differential rotation of injection mold assembly elements during the injection molding process. Methods of manufacturing the stator are also disclosed.
Reinforced directional drilling assemblies and methods of forming same
Reinforced directional drilling assemblies and methods of forming reinforced directional drilling assemblies are provided. Strengthening materials may be incorporated into a resilient layer and/or a polymer-based composite material within a directional drilling assembly to improve the durability and performance of a power section within the directional drilling assembly. Inclusion of strengthening materials within a directional drilling assembly may provide a method to detect the status of a power section and send a signal from downhole upon detecting status of the power section. Inclusion of strengthening materials also may provide a method to collect data about operating conditions, including pressure, temperature, torque, RPM, stress level, shock, vibration, downhole weight on bit, and/or equivalent circulating density to send to the surface or to MWD/LWD systems. The strengthening materials may collect data by themselves or in conjunction with a sensor.
TURBINE RING ASSEMBLY
A turbine ring assembly including ring sectors forming a turbine ring and a ring support structure, each ring sector having, along a section plane defined by an axial direction and a radial direction of the ring, a portion forming an annular base with, in the radial direction an inner face defining the inner face of the ring and an outer face from which a first and a second attachment tabs protrude, the structure including a central shroud from which a first and a second radial clamps protrude between which the first and second attachment tabs of each ring sector are maintained. It includes a first and a second annular flanges removably fastened to the first radial clamp of the central shroud and separated from each other by a contact abutment.
