An inlet flow distortion control system employs a plurality of flow control devices forming at least one array integrated into an internal surface of the inlet. The at least one array extends over an azimuthal range relative to a normal flow axis of the inlet and has a plurality of circumferential rows spaced at increasing distance from a highlight of the inlet. A control system is operably connected to the flow control devices and adapted to activate flow control devices in selected subarrays of the array responsive to a predetermined flight condition.

Through utilizing a fuel pump and adjusting the operation of the fuel pump during the transition, the additional costs, size, and operational complexity associated with multiple liquid fuel trains to facilitate operation of the gas turbine system with multiple liquid fuels may be avoided. The utilization of multiple liquid fuels during operation of a gas turbine system increase the operational flexibility of the gas turbine system by enabling the utilization of varied liquid fuel sources and/or local liquid fuel sources during a steady-state operation, yet utilizing standardized fuel sources for startup or shutdown procedures.

A turbocharger includes a compressor assembly having a compressor housing defining a ported shroud and a switchable trim compressor. The switchable trim compressor is moveable from an open trim position to a closed trim position, with the closed trim position minimizing a diameter of the air inlet opening and blocking air flow through the ported shroud. The positioning of the switchable trim compressor in the open position increases the diameter of the air inlet opening and allows a recirculation air flow through the ported shroud from an interior of the compressor assembly to a position upstream of the switchable trim compressor at a position near the air inlet opening.

A variable-nozzle turbocharger includes a variable-vane mechanism that has an annular nozzle ring supporting an array of rotatable vanes connected to vane arms whose distal ends engage recesses in the radially inner periphery of a rotatable unison ring. Rotation of the unison ring causes the vane arms to pivot about their respective pivot axes at the proximal ends of the arms. The vanes are locked in their fully open position by a locking arrangement that includes locking tongues that extend radially inwardly from the inner periphery of the unison ring and contact the vane arms intermediate their distal and proximal ends.

An oil distribution system uses an oil storage container to contain an air/oil separation unit, a heat exchanger, and an oil reservoir. The functions of oil storage, air/oil separation, and cooling are integrated in the container. Hot aerated oil enters the container at an air/oil separation unit. The air/oil separator deposits hot de-aerated oil into the oil reservoir. The oil reservoir transfers hot de-aerated oil to conduits in a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger uses fuel to cool the oil and warm the fuel. Cooled de-aerated oil is provided to a mechanical device for lubrication and warmed fuel is provided to power an engine. The container may alternatively receive hot aerated oil into the conduits in the heat exchanger. Cooled aerated oil is delivered to the air/oil separation unit to deposit cooled de-aerated oil into the reservoir. Cooled de-aerated oil is pumped to a mechanical device to provide lubrication.

Provided is a transition piece including: a first flow passage group formed by arranging a plurality of intra-wall flow passages extending within a plate constituting the transition piece from a side near a gas turbine to a side near a combustor liner; a second flow passage group located on a side near the combustor liner with respect to the first flow passage group; and a plurality of dilution holes that penetrate the plate, and establish communication between a compressed air main flow passage and a combustion gas flow passage, each intra-wall flow passage of the first flow passage group and the second flow passage group having an inlet facing the compressed air main flow passage at an end portion on a side near the gas turbine, and having an outlet facing the combustion gas flow passage at an end portion on a side near the combustor liner, a dilution hole being located nearer to the inlet of an intra-wall flow passage of the second flow passage group than to the outlet of the intra-wall flow passage of the second flow passage group in each of spaces between the intra-wall flow passages adjacent to each other in the second flow passage group.
