SYSTEM FOR ULTRASOUND TREATMENT COMBINED WITH UVC TREATMENT
A treatment system has a base unit and a portable unit. The base unit has a pliable top layer and one or more ultrasonic transducers configured to produce ultrasound waves into the pliable top layer. The portable unit has a pliable pad and an ultrasonic transducer producing ultrasound waves into the pliable pad. The portable unit also has a source of ionizing electromagnetic radiation configured to emit in ionizing electromagnetic radiation.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WOUND HEALING
A system and method is provided for healing a wound in a subject in need thereof. The system includes a wound dressing that has a therapeutic agent and at least one electrode in electrical communication with the therapeutic agent. The system also includes a power source in electrical communication with the at least one electrode and a vacuum source in fluid communication with the wound dressing.
FLEXIBLE AND WEARABLE LONG DURATION ULTRASOUND DEVICE
The present invention generally relates to, inter alia, devices, methods, and systems for use in medical applications for humans and animals involving long duration ultrasound treatment. An ultrasound transducer array is provided that includes (i) a plurality of ultrasound transducers arranged in a matrix formation and operably coupled to an electrical network and (ii) a mesh structure securing the plurality of ultrasound transducers in the matrix formation, where each ultrasound transducer is connected to the electrical network in a manner sufficient to allow each ultrasound transducer to operate independent of one another or in unison. Ultrasound systems including the ultrasound transducer array and methods of using the ultrasound systems are also disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVELY SEALING SMALL VESSELS
A high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) system (100,400) for selectively sealing a vessel network (360) in a liver includes a generator (110,410,420) configured to generate and supply electric power, and an acoustic assembly (200,130,150) configured to receive the supplied electric power. The acoustic assembly (200,130,150) includes a first transducer (310,430) configured to generate vibrations having a first frequency, and a second transducer (320,440) configured to generate vibrations having a second frequency. When a first focal point of the generated vibrations having the first frequency and a second focal point of the generated vibrations having the second frequency are aligned within a focused region (350), a group of vessels (360) at the focused region (350) are selectively sealed.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR REDUCING BLEEDING VIA ELECTRICAL TRIGEMINAL NERVE STIMULATION
Disclosed are apparatuses and methods for reducing or limiting bleeding (e.g., blood loss and/or bleeding time) in an animal by trigeminal stimulation. The apparatuses and methods may activate one or more branches of the trigeminal nerve. This activation may be invasive or non-invasive.
Systems and methods for producing and delivering ultrasonic therapies for wound treatment and healing
One embodiment is directed to a non-contact, medical ultrasound therapy system for generating and controlling low frequency ultrasound. The ultrasound therapy system includes a treatment wand including an ultrasonic transducer, a generator unit, and a cable coupling the treatment wand to the generator unit. The generator unit generates electric power output to drive the ultrasonic transducer and includes a digital frequency generator, wherein the generator unit digitally controls energy output at resonance frequency of the ultrasonic transducer.
Systems and methods for robotic infection treatment of a prosthesis
A method for debriding an infected implant area using a robotic-assisted surgery system. The method includes determining, by a processing circuit associated with a computer, an area to be debrided, the debridement area including at least a surface of an implant or patient tissue, and generating, by the processing circuit, a plan for debriding the debridement area. The method further includes controlling a debridement tool, by the robotic-assisted surgery system, while the debridement tool is used to carry out the debridement plan, and monitoring the debridement by the processing circuit.
METHODS TO TREAT CANCER, INFLAMMATIONS AND TUMORS
A method of treating a patient having cancer cells has the step of directing sound energy from one or more acoustic shock wave or pressure pulse treatments into the patient targeting the cancer cells in at least one tumor or in the blood to cause the patient’s immune system to identify the cancer cells as foreign objects and trigger a natural healing mechanism of the patient’s immune system to destroy the foreign objects. Wherein targeting the at least one tumor initiates cellular communication resulting in an unmasking of all cancer cells in the patient’s body by destroying a cloaking capability of the cancer cells which made the cancer cells indistinguishable from normal cells allowing the cancer cells to hide from the immune system prior to the one or more acoustic shock wave or pressure pulse treatments.
CATHETER-BASED DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED METHODS FOR IMMUNE SYSTEM NEUROMODULATION
Catheter-based devices and associated methods for immune system neuromodulation of human patients are disclosed herein. One aspect of the present technology is directed to methods of treating a human patient diagnosed with an immune system condition. The methods can include intravascularly positioning a neuromodulation catheter within a blood vessel proximate to neural fibers innervating an immune system organ of the patient. The method also includes reducing sympathetic neural activity in the patient by delivering energy to the neural fibers innervating the immune system organ via the neuromodulation catheter. Reducing sympathetic neural activity improves a measurable physiological parameter corresponding to the immune system condition of the patient.
