A mobile hydraulic system includes a hydraulic actuator coupled to a load, and a control unit coupled to the load and/or to the hydraulic actuator. The control unit is adapted to anticipate an over-center transition of the load relative to a gravity vector prior to the over-center transition through the use of sensors configured with accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers. In some examples, the over-center transition is from an overrunning driving of the load to a passive driving of the load. In some examples, the over-center transition is from a passive driving of the load to an overrunning driving of the load. In some examples, the control unit is adapted to control change in a metered flow through one or more ports of the associated actuator to minimize and/or prevent one or more hydraulic effects of the anticipated over-center transition. In some examples, the control unit controls the metered flow by causing one or more actuators (e.g., a solenoid) to shift one or more valve positions to change the flow through one or more ports of the associated actuator.

Systems and methods for managing noise in compact high speed and high force hydraulic actuators

Presented herein are systems and methods for attenuating certain pulsations in a hydraulic system comprising a pump and a hydraulic actuator. In certain aspects, an accumulator comprising an internal volume that is divided into a working chamber and a contained chamber may be utilized to at least partially attenuate propagation of certain pulsations in the system. The working chamber may be fluidically coupled to the pump via a first flow path and fluidically coupled to a chamber of the actuator via a second flow path. The system may be designed such that a first inertance of the first flow path is greater than a second inertance of the second flow path. Additionally or alternatively, the system may be designed such that a resonance associated with the first inertance and a compliance of the accumulator may occur at a resonance frequency of less than 90 Hz.

Hydraulic pressure supply device

A hydraulic pressure supply device includes: a hydraulic pump capable of changing a discharge capacity; an electric motor capable of changing a rotational frequency; a discharge capacity adjustment mechanism capable of adjusting the discharge capacity of the pump between a maximum and minimum discharge capacity; a pressure detector configured to detect pressure of an operating liquid discharged from the pump; a rotational frequency detector configured to detect the rotational frequency of the motor; and a controller configured to control operations of the motor and adjustment mechanism based on the rotational frequency, detected by the detector, to keep pressure of an actuator at arbitrary pressure, wherein, the controller controls the operation of the adjustment mechanism so the discharge capacity of the pump becomes a set lower limit discharge capacity. The set lower limit discharge capacity is set to be larger than the minimum discharge capacity and be adjustable by the controller.

Low pressure drop acoustic suppressor nozzle for inert gas discharge system

A fire suppression system includes an inert gas source to supply inert gas to an enclosure via distribution piping. The system includes a fire suppression nozzle that is installed in the enclosure. The nozzle includes an inlet that connects to the distribution piping and includes a plurality of outlet holes. During discharge of the inert gas, the sound power level from, the nozzle is no greater than 125 dB for a frequency range from 500 to 10,000 Hz for a coverage area up to 32 ft.×32 ft. in compliance with UL 2127. The nozzles disclosed herein are configured such that gas exiting a plurality of outlet holes is balanced.

The heat store is designed to be attachable to or in the actuator housing and has a receiving region that matches an actuator housing region and, when the heat store is mounted, is in heat-transferring contact with the actuator housing.

Valve

A valve, which is characterized in that between a neutral position (38) of a control spool (STS) and one of its end positions (34, 42) a regeneration position (36) is provided. In the regeneration position, two utility ports (A, B) are interconnected in a fluid-conveying manner, or a floating position (40) is provided, in which these utility ports (A, B) are interconnected in a fluid-conveying manner. A further valve is characterized in that by a further motion of the control spool (STS) in the same direction, as that, in which a fluid connection is established between the utility ports (A, B) starting from the neutral position (38), this fluid connection is interrupted.
