Joining method for members

A joining method for members includes: providing a steel component 10 including insertion holes 14a and 15a, an aluminum pipe 20 having a hollow shape, and a support component 30; inserting the aluminum pipe 20 into the insertion holes 14a and 15a of the steel component 10; and enlarging the aluminum pipe 20 through deformation and joining the aluminum pipe 20 to the steel component 10 by press-fitting. The press-fit joining is performed while at least part of the support component 30 is disposed in a press-fitting region.

Method of sizing a cavity in a part

A method of sizing a cavity in a part and a part made from such method. The method includes forming the part having the cavity, including forming a plurality of protrusions extending within the cavity from at least one internal surface of the cavity, the protrusions having distal ends bordering an unobstructed portion of the cavity, the unobstructed portion having an initial dimension at least partially defined by a position of the distal ends, pressing a deforming element against the distal ends of the protrusions to plastically deform the protrusions toward the at least one internal surface of the cavity and increase the initial dimension to a final dimension, and disengaging the deforming element from the distal ends.

A stud pin includes a first shaft part that extends in a first direction, a first flange portion that is provided coaxially with the first shaft part at one end portion of the first shaft part, a second flange portion that is larger than the first flange portion provided coaxially with the first flange portion on a side opposite to a surface of the first flange portion, on which the first shaft part is provided, and a second shaft part that is provided coaxially with the second flange portion on a side opposite to a surface of the second flange portion, on which the first flange portion is provided, and extends in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

Method for producing a riveted connection between a ball joint pin and a component in the form of a metal sheet and associated prefabricated subassembly
10758964 · 2020-09-01 ·

The invention relates to a method for producing a riveted connection between a ball joint pin, having a pin longitudinal axis (BLA), and a component in the form of a metal sheet with an abutting portion surrounding a preliminary hole, in which the ball joint pin has at least one ball head portion an adjoining shank portion, a planar plate portion, having an upper side and an underside, and a rivet flange portion, in which the ball joint pin is connected to the component by deforming the rivet flange portion. Advantageously, in a first step, the ball joint pin is inserted into the preliminary hole by means of an inserting tool in such a way that the plate portion is supported at least in certain portions by its underside on the abutting portion of the component in the form of a metal sheet, preferably with surface-area contact. In a second step, the rivet flange portion, which at least in certain portions is in the form of a hollow cylinder, is subsequently deformed in a controlled manner in the direction of the component in the form of a metal sheet by of a forming tool in the form of a die, in particular a riveting punch, to produce the riveted connection.

Joining method for members

The joining method for members according to the present invention includes: providing an aluminum component including an insertion hole provided with a rib in at least part of an edge part, and a hollow steel pipe; inserting the steel pipe into the insertion hole of the aluminum component; and expanding and deforming the steel pipe to join the steel pipe to the aluminum component by press-fitting.

Planetary unit having planet carrier with pins fixedly and non-rotatably mounted to carrier body

A planetary transmission having a planet carrier with a carrier body and a plurality of carrier pins. The carrier body includes a pair of carrier plates, each of which having pin bosses that extend outwardly from a remaining portion of the carrier plate. The pin bosses on at least one of the carrier plates define an exterior surface with at least one step so that portions of the exterior surface of the pin bosses are spaced apart in an axial direction. The carrier pins have an axial ends with recesses formed therein such that each axial end of each carrier pin terminates in a thin wall section. The carrier pins are received through the carrier plates and the thin wall sections are deformed against the exterior surfaces of the pin bosses to retain the carrier pins to the carrier body.

BRAKE PAD FOR BRAKE DISC AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAID BRAKE PAD FOR BRAKE DISC

The invention relates to a brake pad for brake disc, and for a method for producing the brake pad, which has a support plate with a first surface, a second surface and at least one hole that extends from the first surface to the second surface; at least one counterweight rigidly connected to the support plate to modify a vibration of the support plate, with the counterweight having a first face facing the first surface and a protrusion that projects from the first face and has a free end, with the protrusion being inserted into the hole; and at least one groove in the second surface in a region near the hole, wherein the protrusion is partially embedded in the groove.

ROOF SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE

A roof system for a vehicle having an opening in a roof includes a panel and a guide rail at each longitudinal side of said opening.
