Securement System and Method
A system and method for securing an item. Custom connectors which only couple to a custom converter can secure an item, deter its theft, and prevent unauthorized access. The custom connectors have a custom head which has a custom void. The custom void has a unique shape which matches and couples with a custom converter. A custom converter allows the custom connector to be manipulated. If desired, subsequently, when the item is in a more secure location, conventional screws can replace the item.
Two-piece barrel nut
A two-piece barrel nut includes an internal nut with an externally threaded portion on one end and a plurality of engageable members on the opposite end, and an external nut with an internally threaded portion on one end that receives the externally threaded portion of the internal nut and one or more receptacles on the other end that each may receive a fastener that engages at least one of the plurality of engageable members on the internal nut to lock the external nut to the internal nut. A method for using the barrel nut to attach a barrel to a firearm is also disclosed.
Reduced electromagnetic signature of conforming conical seal fastener systems
A fastener including a sleeve having an elongated portion, a head with a bearing surface, and an internal threaded portion, a core bolt disposed within the sleeve and having a head and a shank portion having an external threaded portion engageable threadedly with the threaded portion of the sleeve. An insert is disposed within the sleeve and surrounds a portion of the core bolt. A seal element is attached to the sleeve and juxtaposed with the bearing surface of the head of the sleeve. The fastener is adapted to be installed in a structure. The electrical contact of the fastener reduces the potential difference between it and the structure, which provides a direct path for continuous propagation of electromagnetic waves, reducing electromagnetic wave scattering and minimizing the electromagnetic signature.
FASTENER FOR FASTENING A WHEEL RIM TO A WHEEL HUB
A fastener is adapted to fasten a wheel rim to a wheel hub. The wheel rim has multiple hole-defining walls respectively defining multiple installation holes. The fastener includes a main body and a sleeve. The main body extends along a central axis thereof, is adapted to engage the wheel hub, and has an abutting portion corresponding in shape to a corresponding one of the installation holes and extending into the corresponding installation hole. The sleeve is sleeved and retained on the abutting portion, and has a contacting surface, which abuts against corresponding one of the installation holes.
TORQUE LIMITING THREADED FASTENER AND METHOD OF USE
A torque-limiting threaded fastener including a specially designed set of bolts and nuts outfitted with a unique anterior and interior configuration of retractable, gripping teeth components structured and arranged to provide an easy means of preventing stripped bolts while also improving torque load on the bolts.
Bolt arrangement, coupling arrangement and method to dismount a coupling arrangement
A bolt arrangement that includes a bolt having an outer circumferential peripheral surface extending in a longitudinal direction of the bolt, and a sleeve providing an outer circumferential peripheral surface and an inner circumferential peripheral surface extending in a longitudinal direction of the sleeve. The inner peripheral surface has a tapering profile in its longitudinal direction. A portion of the outer peripheral surface of the bolt provides a corresponding tapering profile matching the tapering profile of the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve. Furthermore, the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve further includes a groove. A coupling arrangement and a method of dismounting a coupling arrangement is also provided.
Hollow metal screw and method of making
A hollow screw and related process of making is provided, wherein the hollow screw is formed from a generally circular corrosion resistant stainless steel disk cut from flat roll stock. The hollow screw includes a head and an elongated and hollow shaft having a wall thickness between about 0.2 to about 0.7 millimeters extending therefrom and defining a shank portion and a threaded portion having a plurality of threads thereon with a rotational drive mechanism configured to facilitate tightening via the threads. The process involves annealing to soften the stamped hollow screw, followed by thread rolling, and then age hardening the hollow screw. As such, the resultant hollow screw is relatively lightweight, about 50% the mass of a solid core screw made from the same material, with a sufficient thread strength to meet most aerospace applications and contributes to important aircraft fuel economy.
LIGHTWEIGHT FASTENER AND CUSTOMIZED DRIVE APPARATUS THEREOF
A lightweight fastener is designed for use in a variety of industries, especially in the automotive industry, such as construction, machine manufacturing, building and railway, and a drive apparatus compatible with said fastener that applies the torque required for its tightening and loosening is provided.
Polygonal driving means with inbuilt collar
It has become apparent that the dimensions of inbuilt-collar driving means of the same nominal size may vary according to the method of manufacture. The dimensions of the collar must therefore be adapted to suit the mode of manufacture, at the expense of its strength or mass. Moreover, the transmissible torque for tightening and loosening operations varies according to a useful wrenching height. In order to have a useful height identical to the height of the shank (7), the idea underlying the invention involves pushing the frustoconical collar (152) of a driving means (151) in towards its center along the extension of the sides of the shank. The inbuilt-collar driving means proposed by the invention is suited to all modes of manufacture, and can be manufactured without adversely affecting the dimensions of the driving means or its installation.
A LINING ARRANGEMENT, AND A METHOD FOR FASTENING LINING ELEMENTS TO A SUPPORT STRUCTURE
The disclosure relates to a lining arrangement for wear protection comprising: at least one lining element arranged to be fastened to a support structure; and at least one device, the device comprising: a first element adapted to be received in a through hole of said at least one lining element or a through hole created by adjacent lining elements, the first element having an axially arranged opening; a second element for engagement with the first element, such that the at least one lining element is attached to the support structure upon interconnection between the first element and the second element, and wherein an outer periphery of the second element comprises a plurality of grooves for engagement with a handling tool. The disclosure further relates to a method for fastening lining elements to a support structure.
