STUD
The present disclosure relates to a stud improved to prevent loosening of the stud press-fitted into a sheet metal by increasing a resistance force against a torque.
The stud includes a body provided to be inserted into a stud mounting hole formed on the sheet metal and formed with a screw thread to which a screw is fastened therein, a flange provided on one side of the body to have a larger diameter than the stud mounting hole and press-fitted into the sheet metal, and a rotation preventer protruding from the flange to have a diameter larger than the stud mounting hole and smaller than the flange and press-fitted into the sheet metal to prevent rotation of the stud, wherein the rotation preventer includes a plurality of rotation preventing protrusions having asymmetric shapes, and each of the plurality of rotation preventing protrusions includes a rotation preventing surface provided to be perpendicular to a tangent line of a circle connecting ends of the plurality of rotation preventing protrusions.
FENDER SUPPORT ARM WITH BOLT-RETAINING STRIP
A bolt-retaining strip for a fender support arm may include a base with a first surface configured to be seated against an elongated support member, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a hole dimensioned to receive a shank of a bolt extending from the first surface to the second surface. A first arm and a second arm extending from the second surface may be positioned on opposite lateral sides of the hole so that the head of the bolt can be received therebetween. A lip may extend from a respective interior surface of each of the first and second arms towards the opposite arm and can be dimensioned to extend over a portion of the head of the bolt. A flange may be positioned proximate each of the first and second arms and can be configured to restrict rotation of the bolt relative to the hole.
Expandable Collet Bodies with Sectional Finger-Based Anti-Rotation Feature, Clips, Inserts and Systems Thereof
Expandable collet bodies with sectional finger-based anti-rotation features are disclosed. The collet body comprises not only a plurality of gripping finger as a first part of a two-part anti-rotation means (ARM), but also a first part of a two part translation arresting means (TAM), which may or may not be sectional in nature. The TAM prevents over translation of a collet body within the work piece(s), and cooperates with a second part of the TAM associated with a work piece or an auxiliary structure. In this manner, a collet body inserted into a work piece or auxiliary structure will not accidentally be pushed beyond the blind side of the work piece(s) during insertion or initial clamp-up.
Staking bolt
The staking bolt of the present invention includes a head 10 and a shank 11 having an external thread 12. At the upper end of the shank 11, a ring-shaped protrusion 20 and a ring groove 21 located closer to the head relative to the ring-shaped protrusion 20 are formed. The head 10 is flat, and on the bearing face 13, a whirl-stop protrusion 14 having a plurality of radially extending arms 15 protrudes with a thickness of t. The minimum diameter D between respective arms 15 is larger than the outer diameter d of the ring-shaped protrusion 20, and t×(D−d)/2 which is the longitudinal cross-sectional area A of the minimum diameter portion of the whirl-stop protrusion 14 is equal to or greater than the longitudinal cross-sectional area of the ring groove 21.
ALIGNMENT SYSTEM AND METHODOLOGY TO ACCOUNT FOR VARIATION IN A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A gas turbine engine includes a bushing that is non-round in cross-section, the bushing receivable within an aperture. A fastener passes through the bushing to retain a second component to a third component with respect to the first component.
FITTING
Fitting for fixing a threaded element to a wall section, including a base body which is penetrated by a recess, which recess is extended along a central axis, further including a clamping ring which is rotatably mounted on an outer surface of the base body, wherein a cam is assigned to the outer surface of the base body or to the clamping ring, which cam effectuates a change in diameter of the clamping ring during a rotary movement of the clamping ring relative to the base body, wherein a coupling part is movably received in the recess and forms with the base body a rotary coupling, wherein a threaded portion of the coupling part determines a thread axis, wherein the coupling part is accommodated in the recess with a variable orientation of the thread axis within a predetermined angular interval and/or within a predetermined distance interval to the central axis.
TOOL FOR INSERTING AN ANTI-ROTATION SECTION OF A THREADED ROD INTO A MARGINALLY SMALLER APERTURE
A tool for driving a threaded rod includes a shell, multiple balls and a cover. The shell includes a ring and a stepped aperture. The ring is formed on an internal face of the shell. The stepped aperture includes a first section on a side of the ring, a second section in the ring, and a third section on an opposite side of the ring. The multiple balls are inserted in the third section of the stepped aperture. The cover includes tube inserted in the first section of the stepped aperture through the second and third sections of the stepped aperture so that the cover retains the balls in the shell.
Anti-rotation rivetless nut plate
A method and apparatus for fastening structures. A first end of a body is placed into a hole on a first side of the structures. The body has an outer surface with a noncircular cross-section. A nut element is positioned on a flange at a second end of the body. A bolt is moved into a channel at the first end of the body towards the nut element on the flange on the second end of the body on the first side the structures. The bolt and the nut element are fastened to each other.
BACKING NUTS HOLDER
A device for holding and securing backing nuts for tools, such as disk grinders. The device includes a threaded screw that can be inserted into a threaded connector on the tool. Further, the device includes a threaded receiver that can accept one or more threaded backing nuts. The backing nuts are screwed onto the threaded receiver and thus, attached to the tool such that the backing nuts will not be lost, misplaced or stolen.
REMOVABLE, SINGLE SIDE FASTENER WITH ULTRA-LOW STACK HEIGHT GRIP RANGE, COMPONENTS, AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING THE SAME
A removable single side fastener with ultra-low stake height grip range is disclosed. The fastener includes a housing body, a threaded screw, a drive nut and a collet body. The housing body has a housing head portion and a shank portion extending from the housing head portion with the shank portion forming at least two longitudinal slots. The threaded screw, disposed within the housing body, has a head portion rotatably confined within the housing head portion. The drive nut is rotationally coupled to the threaded screw and rotationally constrained relative to the housing body. The collet body has a pair of collet body legs converging inwardly. Each collet body leg has a toe which may extends radially outward beyond the longitudinal slots to compress work pieces against the housing head portion for fastening.
