Fastener Comprising A Blind Rivet Element And A Sealing Element
A fastening means having a blind rivet element and a sealing element, wherein the blind rivet element has a head portion and a shaft adjoining the head portion in an axial direction, wherein the shaft has an internal thread or a connecting portion for a threaded bolt and, between the internal thread or the connecting portion for the threaded bolt and the head portion, a deformation portion for forming a closing head when the deformation portion is deformed. The sealing element has a closed lateral portion and a closed cover portion adjoining the lateral portion in the axial direction, wherein the lateral portion circumferentially encloses the shaft of the blind rivet element at least in the region of the deformation portion, and the cover portion is formed at an end of the shaft of the blind rivet element facing away from the head portion.
FASTENING ASSEMBLY
A fastening assembly includes a panel defining an aperture, a fastener having a head, a shaft portion extending from the head, and a recess formed in the head, and a sacrificial primary anode insert disposed in the recess. The sacrificial primary anode insert is configured to corrode at a rate faster than a corrosion rate of the fastener.
STRUCTURAL INSERT REINFORCEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An insert may include an outer sleeve that includes a first tubular portion and a first disk portion perpendicular to the first tubular portion at an end of the first tubular portion. An inner sleeve includes a second tubular portion and a second disk portion perpendicular to the second tubular portion at an end of the second tubular portion. The second tubular portion of the inner sleeve may be configured to be inserted in the first tubular portion of the outer sleeve. The first disk portion of the outer sleeve may include a first surface and a second surface, wherein the second surface includes a recess configured to accommodate the second disk portion of the inner sleeve when the second tubular portion is inserted in the first tubular portion.
Fastening assembly
A fastening assembly includes a panel, a fastener and a primary anode insert. The panel defines an aperture and the fastener includes a shaft portion disposed within the aperture. The primary anode insert may be disposed adjacent to a reaction region of the fastener. Alternatively, the fastening assembly may include a fastener and a primary anode insert. The fastener includes a shaft portion which is configured to be disposed within at least two aligned component apertures. The primary anode insert may be also be disposed adjacent to a reaction region of the fastener.
Arrangement of a first and a second component
An arrangement of a first component and a second component, wherein at least the first or the second component is a fiber-reinforced plastic composite component. The first and second components are connected to each other so as to generate a clamping connection between the components via an expansion bolt which generates a clamping force creating the clamping connection and equalizes a creep behavior of the fiber-reinforced plastic composite component.
Fastener assembly, wind turbine hub assembly and related methods
The present disclosure relates to fastener assemblies (400) for a wind turbine blade (22) to rotor hub (20) connection, wherein the fastener assembly (400) comprises a fastener (401) and one or more sleeves (410) configured to absorb the ingress of liquid into a blade root insert (220). The present disclosure also relates to wind turbine hub assemblies (1000) and associated methods (700).
DOPANT ALLOYING OF TITANIUM TO SUPPRESS OXYGEN REDUCTION CATALYSIS
An alloy having the formula Ti.sub.1-xM.sub.x. M is Co, Sn, Cr, or a combination. The value x is from 0.001 to 0.02. A method of combining titanium metal and a dopant metal to form the alloy.
FASTENER MADE OF ALUMINIUM ALLOY COMPRISING SCANDIUM
A fastener for securing at least a first component and a second component together, the fastener comprising: a securing portion adapted to be secured to the first and/or the second component, and a guiding portion adapted to be guided by a manipulator or a tool in order to set the securing portion in the first and/or the second component, wherein the securing portion and the guiding portion form a one-piece element made of one unique aluminium alloy having a composition between 0.03 and 0.55 wt % Scandium.
BOLT-NUT
A bolt-nut (1) includes: a nut body (4) in a substantially cylindrical shape; plural nut divided bodies (4a); a cover body (5) in a substantially cylindrical shape for covering the nut body (4); a cover-side tapered portion formed on an inner wall of the cover body (5); a nut-side tapered portion (4a) formed such that an outer diameter of an outer wall of the nut body (4) is reduced toward one end portion thereof so as to correspond to the cover-side tapered portion; a spring (6) that is accommodated together with the nut body (4) in the cover body (5); and a nut (2) that includes a lid body (7) covering the other end portion of the cover body (5). A bolt screw as a ridge of the bolt and a nut screw as a ridge of the nut body (4) have unequal pitches that are different from each other.
Reverse-thread insert anchor for masonry applications
A fastener anchoring system is disclosed. The fastener anchoring system provides for an anchor with first-direction external threading, while a bore through the anchor provides second-direction internal threading. Thus, the anchor is screwed/secured to a substrate in the first direction and unscrewed in the second direction, while the fastener being anchored in the bore is screwed/secured in the second direction and unscrewed in the first direction. As a result, unscrewing the fastener does not urge the unscrewing of the anchor from the substrate.
