TELESCOPICALLY ASSEMBLED MECHANICAL CONNECTOR
20230072067 · 2023-03-09 ·

A telescopically assembled, Merlin™ Family Connector is provided with one or more sets of threads on substantially matching frustoconical surfaces of a pin and a box of the connector. Strengthening means are introduced involving at least one of: a mechanical stiffening clamp interacting with an outside surface of the box or a mechanical stiffening clamp interacting with an inside surface of the pin. The stiffening clamps may include systems of arbitrarily oriented ribs and/or fairing surfaces. The said strengthening means may be essentially annular clamps that would have relatively regular shapes essentially conforming to the external or internal surfaces of the box or the pin, respectively. The above modifications can be introduced to traditional connectors and to connectors designed to transfer high torsional loads.

Nut-locking device and associated assembly unit

The invention concerns a unit (210) for a locking device, comprising: a nut (212) comprising two coaxial taps in opposite directions; and a ring (213); said ring including a third tap (38); the first (18) and third (38) taps being capable of engaging with a single first thread (22); said ring including a second thread (40) capable of engaging with the second tap (20) of the nut. The unit further comprises a washer (214) configured (274) so as to be inserted around one (212) of the nut and the ring, the washer comprising an elastic engagement means (272) for engaging with the other (213) of the ring and the nut in an installation position of the unit, so as to prevent the ring and the nut from rotating relative to each other.

FASTENING STRUCTURE WITH DOUBLE NUTS HAVING DUAL-THREADED SCREW

Fastening art with double nuts for a dual-threaded screw structure is provided, in which loosening is not created even if the structure is subjected to vibration. A spring washer is caused to intervene between the nuts, when double nuts of an inner nut and an outer nut are screwed onto a thread portion on which dual-threaded screw is formed. Only by tightening the outer nut, also the inner nut is tightened and the spring washer is compressed. Both axial force for clamping the fastened member and axial force between the nuts can be secured with the spring washer, so that loosening does not occur easily.

Hybrid thread geometry for threaded fitting

A threaded fitting comprising a first plurality of threads from a first end of the fitting to a transition thread and a second plurality of threads from the transition thread to a second end of the fitting. The first plurality of threads is configured to provide a labyrinth type seal minimizing the migration of at least dust and/or gases across a thick-walled enclosure. The second plurality of threads is configured to engage a lock-nut in thin-walled enclosures, or a plurality of pre-formed threads within an aperture of thick-walled enclosures, for minimizing the migration of at least fluids/water across one of the thin- or thick-walled enclosure. The first and second plurality of threads are serially-arranged and may be used either thin or thick-walled enclosures to retard a passage of at least one of either gas, fluid, dust and flame.
