THERMALLY STABILIZED FASTENER SYSTEM AND METHOD
A thermally stabilized fastener system and method is disclosed. The disclosed system/method integrates a fastener (FAS) incorporating a faster retention head (FRH), fastener retention body (FRB), and fastener retention tip (FRT) to couple a mechanical member stack (MMS) in a thermally stabilized fashion using a fastener retention receiver (FRR). The MMS includes a temperature compensating member (TCM), a first retention member (FRM), and an optional second retention member (SRM). The TCM is constructed using a tailored thermal expansion coefficient (TTC) that permits the TCM to compensate for the thermal expansion characteristics of the FAS, FRM, and SRM such that the force applied by the FRH and FRR portions of the FAS to the MMS is tailored to a specific temperature force profile (TFP) over changes in MMS/FAS temperature. The TCM may be selected with a TTC to achieve a uniform TFP over changes in MMS/FAS temperature.
Screw Structure Reducing Wear and Slip of Washer
A screw structure includes a screw and a washer mounted on the screw. The bottom face of the screw head is provided with a plurality of pressing portions. Each of the pressing portions has a top provided with a first plane and a bottom provided with a second plane having an area smaller than that of the first plane. Each of the pressing portions is provided with a first inclined face and a first steep arcuate face. The first inclined face is directed toward a clockwise direction of the screw when the screw is screwed. The first steep arcuate face is directed toward the external thread. When the screw is screwed into an article, the pressing portions press the washer, and an outer diameter of the washer is expanded outward and forms an expansion.
Fastener and vent device for telecommunications equipment
A device includes a head having a material having a plurality of pores, wherein at least some of the pores from the plurality of pores each have a size that is smaller than a water molecule and larger than an air molecule such that the air molecules can pass through the pores and the water molecules are prevented from passing through the pores; and an elongated body extending from the head and having a thread on an outer surface thereof and having a conduit extending longitudinally through the elongated body to the head. The device is configured to fasten a first surface to a second surface using the thread of the elongated body.
SEALED FASTENER CAP AND RELATED METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A fastener cap system can include a rigid cap and a sealing member which forms a liquid barrier so moisture is impaired from entering a space under the rigid cap and/or around a fastener installed through it. The sealing member can include a central seal disposed on an upper surface of the cap, the seal extending beyond a head of a fastener, which extends through the cap and sealing member, so that moisture is impaired from entering the cap under the head. The sealing member can be above and below respective lowermost and uppermost cap surfaces so the cap system can be fed cleanly and efficiently through a cap feeder during installation via a tool. The sealing member, which can have a higher coefficient of friction than the rigid cap, thereby does not drag along a cap feeder and cause feeding issues. Related methods of manufacture and use are provided.
Threaded Fastener Capable of Torque Detection
A threaded fastener capable of torque detection includes: a head and a shank connected together, wherein the shank has a threaded peripheral surface; a neck formed at the junction between one end of the shank and the head; and at least one sensing element and a sealing element, both provided on the neck, wherein the sensing element is configured to detect deformation of the neck, and the sealing element seals the sensing element. The threaded fastener may further include a covering element that covers the sealing element. The threaded fastener can be deformed consistently, allowing the sensing element to obtain relatively accurate detection values.
Structural Attachment Sealing System
A mounting device including a base having an open bottom, a longitudinal axis, and a linear guide on the base. The linear guide guides support hardware in linear movement along the longitudinal axis. An internal cavity is under the base for containing a sealant against and in cooperation with a roof when the mounting device is secured to the root. An opening is though the base is for receiving a fastener when the mounting device is secured to the roof. The opening is in communication with the internal cavity. The linear guide extends beyond the internal cavity.
Fastener for Corrugated Sheet
A fastener for a corrugated sheet includes a cylindrical assembly including elongated, plate shaped fastening members assembled as a hollow cylinder, the fastening member tapered to one end to form a hook at one end and having a curved groove on an outer surface, and a curved trough on the outer surface at the other end of the fastening member, the curved troughs assembled to form an annular recess; a retainer ring secured to the annular recess; a ring-shaped elastic member secured to the curved groove; a first sealing member put on the retainer ring; and a washer; a threaded bolt driven through the washer, the retainer ring, and the fastening member; and an expansion nut having a multi-sided outer surface and moveably secured to the threaded bolt.
Fastener for Corrugated Sheet
A fastener for a corrugated sheet includes at least one support on a top of the corrugated sheet; at least one steel member on a bottom of the corrugated sheet; a cylindrical assembly including elongated, plate shaped fastening members assembled as a hollow cylinder, each fastening member tapered to one end to form a hook and having a curved groove on an outer surface, and a curved trough on the outer surface at the other end, the curved troughs assembled to form an annular recess; a retainer ring secured to the annular recess; and a ring-shaped elastic member secured to the curved groove; a threaded bolt driven through the retainer ring, the fastening members, the support, and the corrugated sheet into the steel member; an expansion nut moveably secured to the threaded bolt; and a ring-shaped first sealing member fastened between the support and the corrugated sheet.
WALL-MOUNTED WASHING MACHINE AND INSTALLATION METHOD THEREOF
A fastener kit can securely affix a washing machine on a lightweight wall. The washing machine includes a rear panel for coupling to the wall through the fastener kit. A tub configured to contain washing water may be integrally formed with the rear panel. The fastener kit has an anchor rod with one end section forming tight contact with the inner surface of a fastening hole on the lightweight wall by using a chemical anchor. The other end section of the fastener kit is coupled to the rear panel.
SELF-SEALING FASTENERS, BUILDING PANELS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Self-sealing fasteners and associated building panels, systems, and methods are provided. In one aspect, a fastener includes an elongated fastener body with an external surface extending between the first end and the second end, and a coating material disposed on at least a portion the external surface. In another aspect, a fastener includes an elongated fastener body with an external surface extending between the first end and the second end, and a polymer annulus surrounding at least a portion of the external surface of the of the elongated fastener body at or adjacent the head of the fastener.
