An electromechanical power steering system for a motor vehicle includes a worm shaft which can be driven by an electric motor and which meshes with a worm wheel coupled to a steering shaft. The worm shaft is rotatably mounted in a bearing which has at least one bearing ring fitted in a retainer that can be displaced relative to the worm wheel. In order to specify an electromechanical power steering system having an improved retainer, which has higher dimensional stability and increased stiffness, according to the invention the retainer has a main body of plastic, which is injection-molded onto the bearing ring as an injection-molded part.

Transmission shaft

A composite transmission shaft includes a shaft portion, and a flanged end fitting. The flanged end fitting comprises a flared sleeve comprising a tubular portion and a flared portion, and a reinforcement portion fixed to the flared portion of the sleeve. The flanged end fitting and shaft portion have been resin transfer moulded together to form the transmission shaft.

A wheel bearing apparatus has a magnetic encoder 14 mounted on an inner ring 5 opposing the rotational speed sensor 16, via the cap 10 and an air gap. The cap 10 has a cylindrical fitting part 10a press-fit into an inner circumference of an end of the outer member 2. A shielding part 10c extends radially inward from the fitting part 10a and has an annular disc shape. A detection part 16a of the rotational speed sensor 16 is arranged close to or in contact with a side surface of the shielding part 10c. The cap 10 is formed of austenitic stainless steel sheet based on SUS 304. The carbon (C) content is reduced and the nickel (Ni) content is increased. A difference of magnetic flux density between a martensitic transformation part and non-martensite part is 1.4 mT or less.

A hub bearing module for a lightweight suspension upright or knuckle of a vehicle, the hub bearing module including a wheel bearing and a bearing connection interface to the suspension upright or knuckle, the bearing connection interface being arranged coaxial with the rolling bearing and including a first sleeve element and a second sleeve element arranged radially outside the first sleeve element and including a composite, preferably BMC (Bulk Molding Compound) annular body having a radially inner lateral surface mechanically coupled to the first sleeve element and a radially outer lateral surface configured to mechanically and chemically couple with the suspension upright or knuckle.

Ball joint for a chassis

A ball joint having a ball pin and a housing. The ball pin together with the ball is accommodated in the housing to move in a rotational and pivotal manner. The ball is at least partially surrounded by a structural component. The structural component is essentially formed from a fiber-plastic composite structure and at least partially forms the housing.
