Combined preparations of urinary acidifiers and crystallization inhibitors and application thereof for the treatment or prevention of phosphatic or calcium phosphate-induced renal lithiasis

The present invention is related to the use of a separate, sequential or simultaneous combination of at least one urinary acidifier with at least one calcium phosphate crystallization inhibitor for urine acidification, and thus preventing the pH at which supersaturation of calcium phosphate is produced and consequently, renal lithiasis.

This application relates generally to the processing of egg protein isolates for use in various food, sports nutrition and nutraceutical applications, methods of making egg protein isolates, and apparatus for making egg protein isolates. More particularly, the application relates to a method of deflavoring egg products and concentrating the protein content to. The method can include providing liquid egg; deashing the liquid egg; concentrating the liquid egg; and desugaring the liquid egg, wherein deashing is accomplished at a pressure of less than 100 psi; and optionally the volume of water used is 0.5 to 7 diafiltration volumes.

CLEAR PLANT EXTRACT EMULSION AND METHOD FOR PREPARATION

A method for preparing a clear plant extract emulsion is provided. Sugar is mixed with water. A bitter blocker is added to the mixed sugar and water to form an aqueous phase. The aqueous phase is combined with an oil phase including a plant extract and sucrose ester. The combined aqueous phase and oil phase are mixed under heat. A two-part homogenization of the combined aqueous and oil phases is performed resulting in a clear emulsion concentrate with a low turbidity.

Disclosed is a process for enriching silicate content in drinking water that includes separating raw water via reverse osmosis into a permeate comprising demineralised raw water and a retentate comprising mineral enriched raw water. The permeate is mixed with a water glass solution comprising sodium silicate and/or potassium silicate. An ion exchange process is used to reduce the concentration of sodium and/or potassium ions in at least part of the mixture. At least part of the retentate is supplied to the mixture after reducing the concentration of sodium and/or potassium ions to provide a silicate-enriched drinking water. Also disclosed is an apparatus for producing a drinking water enriched with silicate. The apparatus includes a reverse osmosis unit, a mixing unit, an ion exchanger, and a feed unit for feeding at least part of the retentate to the mixture after reducing the concentration of sodium and/or potassium ions.

Composition containing flavonoid-cyclodextrin clathrate compound

A composition containing one or more materials selected from the group consisting of fatty acids, proteins, peptides, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, alcohols, sweeteners, acidulants, antioxidants, thickening stabilizer, and surfactants, and a flavonoid-cyclodextrin inclusion compound, wherein the inclusion compound contains an inclusion compound obtained by treating a flavonoid having a rhamnoside structure with an enzyme having rhamnosidase activity in the presence of a cyclodextrin. According to the present invention, the bitterness and the changes in color tones originated from flavonoids can be inhibited, and foodstuff or the like having an unpleasant taste can be improved, so that the present invention can be suitably utilized in fields such as medicaments, foodstuff, health foods, foods for specified health use, and cosmetics.

METHOD OF PREPARING REGENERATED SPENT FERMENTED BEVERAGE MEDIA FOR RE-USE IN STABILIZATION AND FILTRATION OF FERMENTED BEVERAGES
20220089987 · 2022-03-24 · ·

This disclosure includes regenerated inorganic fermented beverage stabilization and/or clarification media and a process for such regeneration. Inorganic stabilization and clarification media (for processing beer or the like) may include expanded perlite or other expanded natural glasses, diatomaceous earth, silica gel or other precipitated silicas and compositions that incorporate these materials. Such media may be regenerated individually, together in a mixture or together as part of a composite product. The regenerated media meet the requirements for physical and chemical properties for re-use and replacement of the majority of particulate inorganic filtration media and inorganic stabilization media consumed in stabilization and clarification processes, and the related regeneration process provides for substantial benefits to brewers through a reduction of costs to purchase and transport stabilization and clarification media, to dispose of spent cake and/or membrane retentate, while providing for substantial reductions in the introduction of soluble impurities into the fermented beverage.
