Brake component handling apparatus
A brake component handling apparatus (10) comprising a frame (12) structure having a plurality of wheels (16). A shaft (14) is supported to extend upwardly from the frame (12). A support member (34) is rotatably secured to the shaft and an engagement member (36) is provided on the support member (34) to engage with a component of a brake assembly. The support member (34) comprises first and second plate members (50, 52) secured parallel and adjacent each other such the first plate member (50) is rotatable relative to the second plate member (52) and a locking mechanism is provided such that the first plate member (50) can be fixed relative to the second plate member (52).
AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR
Aircraft landing gear comprising an axle (100), a wheel (102) borne by the axle, a stack of discs (104) arranged to impose a braking torque on the wheel in response to a pressure imposed on the stack of discs, at least one electromechanical actuator (106) extending facing the stack of discs in order in a controlled manner to apply the imposed pressure to the stack of discs, and an actuator bearer (107) designed to bear the electromechanical actuator, the electromechanical actuator being fixed to the actuator bearer while at the same time being demountable. The actuator bearer is incorporated into the axle in such a way that the axle and the actuator bearer form a single component.
Method of demounting a stack of discs from such a landing gear.
Disc brake piston retraction tool
A disc brake piston retraction tool includes a reversible ratchet wrench, a first pressure plate assembly, and a second pressure assembly. In the process of retracting a piston, a first engaging notch of a first L-shaped elastic plate of a first buckle member and a second engaging notch of a second L-shaped elastic plate of a second buckle member are pressed against a first force output shaft and a second force output shaft to provide an anti-rotation effect. Thus, when an operating handle of the reversible ratchet wrench is pulled back, it will not link a ratchet wheel, so as to carry out an effective operation of retracting the piston.
Brake component positioning assembly
A brake component positioning assembly that is removably connectable to a component of a heavy-duty vehicle. The brake component positioning assembly enables a brake system component to be positioned away from a wheel end of the heavy-duty vehicle to allow removal or servicing of at least one component of a wheel end assembly or the vehicle brake system. In one embodiment, the brake component positioning assembly includes a base block disposed in a cutout of a torque plate. A positioning block slidably engages one or more guide pins received by or disposed through the base block. A positioning bolt threadably engages the positioning block, whereby upon rotation of the positioning bolt, the positioning block and brake system component are positioned away from the bottom block and wheel end. Components of the brake component positioning assembly can be removably connected to each other.
Unit having at least one piston with an associated piston spring
An apparatus having a housing, a cavity which is disposed in the housing and which at least in regions is configured as a bore in which at least one piston and one piston spring associated with the piston are received, wherein the piston spring in the bore when activating the piston in the operation of the apparatus is compressed by the piston. The piston spring is configured from a magnetic or magnetizable material, the piston is configured from a non-magnetic material, and an assembly unit which comprises the piston having the piston spring is provided, and in which the piston spring is held on the piston by a magnetic field.
BRAKE SYSTEM FOR BICYCLES
Brake calipers and rotors for bicycles are described herein. An example brake caliper includes an outboard caliper portion to be disposed inboard of a frame of the bicycle. The outboard caliper portion includes an outboard caliper body and an outboard brake pad that is fixed relative to the outboard caliper body. The brake caliper also includes an inboard caliper portion coupled to the outboard caliper body. The inboard caliper portion is disposed inboard of the outboard caliper portion when the brake caliper is coupled to the bicycle. The inboard caliper portion includes an inboard caliper body and an inboard brake pad that is movable relative to the inboard caliper body.
SYSTEM AND METHOD REDUCING AIRCRAFT BRAKE WEAR
A system and method are provided for continuous monitoring and controlling of aircraft braking that can reduce brake wear and aircraft operating costs through the retention of carbon brake powder from the brakes or addition of carbon powder in a device mounted with respect to the brake disk stack. The use of carbon powder reduces brake wear by providing small particles between the brake disks, acting as a buffer between the brake disks when the brake stack is clamped together. Moreover, when carbon powder or small particles are used at application, such use reduces the roughness of the carbon surface and reduces the number of large particles from braking off the carbon surface, thereby reducing brake wear. Adaptive or selective braking may be used in conjunction with carbon powder to further reduce carbon brake wear.
Brake disc tool for machining a brake disc blank, brake disc production plant and method for producing a brake disc
A brake disc tool for machining a brake disc blank is provided. The brake disc tool includes a first cutting tool which is arranged to cut a first brake surface of the brake disc blank, a second cutting tool which is arranged to cut a second brake surface of the brake disc blank, a first forming tool for forming the first brake surface, a second forming tool for forming the second brake surface, and at least one infeed device for the infeed of the cutting tools and the forming tools towards one another, such that a brake disc blank arranged between the cutting tools and the forming tools is able to be machined and rolled in each case simultaneously on both of its brake surfaces.
BRAKE CALIPER TOOL
A tool for retracting pistons into cylinder bores is disclosed, with a narrow gap between facing pressure plates allowing use of the tool in tight places, and ratcheting spreading of the facing pressure plates causing outward moving of the pistons, enabling work to be performed, wherein movement of a threaded stud through a coupler moves a first pressure plate.
Miniature brake and method of assembly
A brake and method of assembly are provided. The brake includes a friction plate configured for coupling to a rotatable body for rotation with the rotatable body about an axis of rotation, a pressure plate disposed about the axis on a first side of the friction plate and fixed against rotation, and an armature plate disposed about the axis on a second side of the friction plate. An electromagnet is disposed about the axis on an opposite side of the armature plate relative to the friction plate. A spring biases the armature plate in a first axial direction towards the friction plate and away from the electromagnet to engage the brake. A fastener couples the pressure plate to the electromagnet. The fastener conforms to a space between opposed surfaces of the pressure plate and the electromagnet and, upon hardening, bonds the pressure plate to the electromagnet.
