The invention at hand refers to a wheel disc brake assembly comprising a wheel rim, a coupler ring and an annular brake disc arranged in a concentric manner, wherein an outer surface of the coupler ring is connected to an inner surface of the wheel rim and an inner surface of the coupler ring is connected to an outer surface of the annular brake disc. The wheel disc brake assembly further comprises a caliper with at least two brake pads facing each other, wherein the caliper surrounds at least a part of the inner surface of the annular brake disc and the at least two brake pads are configured to press against opposite side faces of the annular brake disc.

BRAKE SYSTEM

A brake system that includes a first brake piston; a second brake piston; a first rotary to linear mechanism disposed inside of the first brake piston; a second rotary to linear mechanism disposed inside of the second brake piston; and a motor. The motor is configured to generate torque and supply the generated torque generally equally to both of the first and the second rotary to linear mechanism during a brake apply. A compressible member may be provided between a first member and the first brake piston, a second member and the second brake piston, or both.

The unidirectional coupling comprises at least one radial block (60) arranged between a radially outer surface (52) of the rotor (50) and a radially inner surface (34) of the intermediate element (31), and at least one actuating lobe (55) formed on the rotor (50) and projecting radially from the radially outer surface (52) thereof, the radial bock (60) comprising a wedge part (61) designed to be engaged by the actuating lobe (55) of the rotor (50) during rotation in the first direction of rotation (A) so as to push the radial block (60) in the centrifugal direction and lock it between the rotor (50) and the intermediate element (31).
