Methods for making a brake pad retention plate
A method of making a brake pad retention plate and a brake pad retention plate is provided. The method includes upsetting a brake pad facing surface on the retention plate to form a first set of rows having a gutter, or a negative feature such as a depression in the primary plane, in the surface of the retention plate and a tooth feature on a first side of the gutter. The surface of the retention plate is upset to form a second set of rows having a gutter and a tooth feature on the second side of the gutter. The second set of rows being a single row. The second set of rows is placed adjacent to or between first set of rows. A mechanical press is used to deform the tooth to form a base portion and a mezzanine portion extending over a portion of the gutter.
Method for producing an automotive friction material with optimized multi dimensional construction
A method for producing an automotive friction material with optimized multi-dimensional construction includes receiving a base friction-disc material, cutting the base friction-disc material to a predetermined size and shape, assembling the sized and shaped cut base friction-disc material, bonding the base friction-disc material to a base friction plate, and utilizing a multi nozzle printing array to deposit friction enhancing materials overtop a reaction surface of the base friction-disc material.
ASSEMBLY METHOD AND ASSEMBLY APPARATUS FOR CROSS SHAFT UNIVERSAL JOINT
An assembly apparatus includes backup jigs, a press-fitting and caulking part, and an expansion part. The backup jigs is configured to back up arms of a yoke of the cross shaft universal joint from inside in an axial direction. The press-fitting and caulking part is configured to press-fit cup bearings from outside in the axial direction between bearing holes of the arms and a shaft portion of a cross shaft, and configured to caulk the cup bearings. The expansion part is configured to push a wedge body between the backup jigs and to expand the arms outward via the backup jigs. The press-fitting and caulking part is configured to press-fit the cup bearings and to caulk the cup bearings in a state in which the arms are expanded. The expansion part is configured to release an expansion of the arms after the press-fitting and caulking of the cup bearings.
METHOD OF FORGING OUTER JOINT MEMBER OF CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT
A method is used to forge an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint. Track grooves of the outer and inner joint members each have an arc-shaped ball raceway center line having a curvature center that is not offset in an axial direction with respect to a joint center. The forging method includes performing ironing by press-fitting a cylindrical portion of one end of a shaft portion of a pre-processing material of the outer joint member including the shaft portion and the cylindrical portion into a die hole of a die while a punch set that is radially expandable and contractable is fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion. The punch set includes punches and a punch base to guide the punches to enable advancing and retreating. Each of the punches has a pair of forming surfaces for forming the adjacent track grooves.
Method and device for producing rotationally symmetrical metal components
A method for producing rotationally symmetric structural components of metal, in particular steel, is provided. A blank is arranged in a torsion-proof manner on a first receptacle, the receptacle is rotated about a rotation axis so that the blank is caused to rotate about this rotation axis, at least one linear shaping element with a contour having at least partially an unrolled external contour of the rotationally symmetric structural component or a preform of the structural component is moved tangentially to the surface of the synchronously rotating blank, and the linear shaping element is at the same time pressed against the blank so that during the tangential movement the contour of the linear shaping element is formed at least partially into the blank. A kingpin or link pin of a connection link with a connection shaft and a link outer part is produced.
METHOD FOR REDUCING THE FLATTENING OF A WHEEL BRAKE DISK FOR A RAIL VEHICLE AND DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD
A method and device reduce the flattening of a wheel brake disk for a rail vehicle, caused by braking processes, includes, after determination of a deviation of a friction surface of the brake disk from a plane defined by a peripheral edge of the friction surface, the friction surface of the wheel brake disk is permanently molded back into the plane defined by the peripheral edge of the friction surface.
Clutch device
A clutch device includes an outer disk carrier, outer disks, an inner disk carrier, inner disks, and at least one lug. The outer disk carrier has first axially running grooves, a first edge, and a first edge side. Each of the outer disks has radial projections spaced apart by depressions and projecting into the first axially running grooves. The inner disk carrier has second axially running grooves, a second edge, and a second edge side. Each of the inner disks has radial projections spaced apart by depressions and projecting into the second axially running grooves. The lug is arranged between two grooves of the first axially running grooves and extending axially from the first edge side, or arranged between two grooves of the second axially running grooves and extending axially from the second edge side.
METHODS FOR MAKING A BRAKE PAD RETENTION PLATE
A method of making a brake pad retention plate and a brake pad retention plate is provided. The method includes upsetting a brake pad facing surface on the retention plate to form a first set of rows having gutter, or a negative feature such as a depression in the primary plane, in the surface of the retention plate and a tooth feature on a first side of the gutter.
