Hygiene regulations and social distancing are very effective in blocking short distance infections. During the lockdown, the distance rules can usually be adhered to, but what happens when the actual lockdown is over, and the people meet again in a confined space? Then additional effective and efficient protection is essential to stabilize infection rates. Since the viruses are spread by contact and droplet infection, technical devices are required that effectively intervene in the chain of infection and effectively block infection. An effective protection is the respiratory mask as known since 100 years.

This patent application discloses an alternative to mask that is an aerosol protection helmet (APH) for various applications in the environment. The aerosol protection helmet consists of adjustable air sucking and blowing devices in different form factors based on the application. The aerosol protection helmet protects against any aerosol in the environment.

AIR FILTERING SURGICAL HELMET

Disclosed is a protective helmet, surgical garment, and positive pressure air filter apparatus. The helmet is adapted to fit on the head of a medical practitioner and includes a filtered air inlet located near the crown of the practitioner's head, one or more air flow ducts, and one or more outlets located near the practitioner's face. The garment fits over the helmet and provides an air-impermeable barrier to prevent airborne contaminants from entering the space around the practitioner's head. A motorized filter unit is adapted to be worn near the waist of the practitioner. A tube connects the output of the filter unit with the air inlet of the helmet to provide a filtered air supply to the practitioner. One or more filter elements are provided at the input of the filter unit. The filter elements remove contaminants, including bacteria, viruses, vapors, and gasses from ambient air drawn into the filter unit to generate filtered air that is delivered to the practitioner.

An air purifying breathing system for providing filtered air to a user. The air purifying breathing system comprises a headgear that is not self-contained and is open under a face shield to let air flow out of the headgear. A fan component moves ambient air into the system and across a filtering component. The filtering component comprises a first and second filter, each filter using different filter media. After the air is filtered, it exits the filtering component and into the headgear at the top for distribution to the user. The filtered air flows past the user and out the opening under the face shield. The slight positive pressure from the airflow prevents the inflow of unfiltered air into the headgear. The filtering component may be attached to or integrated into the headgear or may be retained by a vest or harness.

A portable air purifier device includes a fan, air purification system, air quality sensor module, air crossflow limiter and a head mount. The air purifier is mounted in the forehead/head area without blocking the user's nose, mouth or face area, making it easy to breathe. The air purification system consists of one or more Electrostatic Precipitators connected together, in series to achieve higher level of air purification efficiency or in parallel to achieve higher output air flow rate. The crossflow limiter blocks dirty air from the outside from displacing the cleansed air supplied by the device. The air quality sensor module automatically throttles the air purification up/down based on the air pollution level surrounding the user. The head mount is used to easily mount the air purifier device either directly onto the user's head or on top of any head-wear such as a helmet or a hat.

Gas delivery system

A magnetic quick connect for a fluid delivery system includes a male coupling member and a female coupling member. The male coupling member defines a first outer fluid communication path and includes a first magnetic material. A first inner member is disposed within the first outer fluid communication path and defines a first inner communication path. POWERED AIR-PURIFYING RESPIRATOR

An air purification system is provided. A visor portion is configured to secure to a head of a user and maintain a field of vision for the user. An air delivery portion is configured to draw in air from an external environment. A disposable barrier hood is configured to cover at least the visor portion. The visor portion defines a breathing outlet to exhaust the drawn-in air in proximity to a breathing area for consumption by the user. The disposable barrier hood fluidly isolates the breathing area from the external environment.
