Adsorbent cartridge with accurate visual indicator

A cartridge comprising layers of adsorbent sheet is described. The cartridge includes an indicator that characterizes the consumption state of the adsorbent within the cartridge. The indicator is applied in a way such that discrete areas of indicator are visible. These discontinuous areas of indicator may be applied to the outside surface of the cartridge. Alternatively, the discontinuous areas may be formed by cutting windows in the outermost layer of the cartridge and either coating indicator on the layer beneath the window, placing an indicator layer between the window and the layer beneath it or filling the window with an indicating plug of material so that the indicator is visible from the outside of the cartridge. The indicator layer and indicator plug embodiments allow the use of any indicator with any adsorbent.

WEARABLE AIR PURIFIER
20240050777 · 2024-02-15 · ·

A wearable air purification system including a wearable support configured to be supported on or around a head region of a user; and an air delivery mask connected to the wearable support which is shaped to bound an air delivery region and to deliver a flow of air to the air delivery region. The air delivery mask includes an illumination source including one or more light emitting elements located along a longitudinal edge of the air delivery mask. The system or air purifier is configured to direct light to the area occupied by the user's mouth when the air purifier is worn, as well as in some examples providing illumination to a mask or visor of the product itself. Examples herein are more visually appealing but the form of illumination means that the user's face is more visible to others which therefore reduces facial features being obscured.

The air delivery mask includes an illumination source located along a longitudinal edge of the air delivery mask, and a control system that is configured to control the illumination source to convey information to a user in response to data received by the control system. The system is configured to direct light to the area occupied by the user's mouth when the air purifier is worn. The form of illumination means that the user's face is more visible to others which reduces facial features being obscured. The control system enables the product to be interactive for the user, delivering status information, and other data to enhance the user experience.

Filter Tube Respirator

A filter tube respirator having a filter tube and at least one breathing orifice interface. The filter tube is made of filtration material so that it is gas permeable, is substantially hollow, and has a pair of ends. The breathing orifice interface may include a nose piece, a mouth piece, and a flap piece. The filter tube has a tube breathing hole located between the ends for accepting the breathing orifice interface and has a tube valve hole opposed to the tube breathing hole for accepting a one-way valve. An attachment device selectively connects the filter tube to an individual during use.

Temperature-based estimation of scrubbing capacity of a gas scrubber
10486000 · 2019-11-26 ·

Methods and systems for estimating remaining or utilized scrubbing capacity of a gas scrubber are described. Inside the gas scrubber, a reaction gas is produced by an exothermic or endothermic reaction. Temperature sensors are positioned along the gas flow path, and temperature readings are obtained. Temperature differences between pairs of adjacent temperature sensors are determined. The largest temperature difference for each such pair is recorded. A recent temperature difference is normalized by dividing the recent difference by the largest recorded for the same pair. One or more of the normalized temperature differences may be weighted. The normalized temperature differences and/or the weighted temperature differences are combined to provide a life-value, which is indicative of the remaining or utilized scrubbing capacity of the gas scrubber.

A mask device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a mask cover, which has air suction ports, and has, mounted thereon, filters for filtering air flowing in through the air suction ports; a mask body, which is coupled to the rear of the mask cover, and has an air ejection port through which air having passed through the filters passes; fan modules, which each comprise a fan and a fan motor, are disposed between the mask body and the mask cover, and allow the air having passed through the filters to flow toward the air ejection port; and a control part, which controls the number of revolutions of the fan motors, and predicts information about the lifespan of the filters so as to provide the predicted information about the lifespan of the filters to a user.

CUSTOM-CONTROLLABLE POWERED RESPIRATOR FACE MASK

Embodiments relate generally to respirator face masks, and specifically to powered face masks which may be custom-controllable to better provide for the specific air needs of the individual user wearing the mask. For example, the face mask embodiments typically include a filter and a motorized fan, both generally located on the face mask itself, along with a processor. The processor then may use inputs, for example specific to the user and/or the environment, to control the fan speed. Thus, the fan speed of the face mask may be custom controlled to provide the appropriate amount of filtered air as the specific user needs it.
