A respiratory protection composite facepiece is disclosed and includes a polymeric rigid facepiece body portion having a first surface and a second surface and a silicone sealing facepiece element chemically bonded at least one of the first surface or the second surface. The first and second surfaces can be opposing major surfaces. A second silicone element is chemically bonded to at least one of the first surface or the second surface. Methods of making the same are also disclosed.

A bidirectional reusable filtering face mask is described that includes an anatomical base provided with means to promote adherence to the face and pass-through elements for closure by means of ties; a first filtering chamber used to prevent respiratory droplets from spreading and obtained by fixing a removable disposable filter on the outer side of the anatomical base; a second filtering chamber comprising a removable dome with a recess in its apical part adapted to accommodate a main removable disposable filter, where the filter is secured to the recess by means of a protective grid; and means for assembling the components of the second filtering chamber with the first filtering chamber.

When collecting a sample of influenza, coronavirus, and the like, the present invention protects a tester from a droplet infection due to a patient’s cough and/or sneeze caused by inserting a swab into nasopharynx to collect the sample from the nasopharynx. At the time of a virus test such as influenza, a patient’s nose and mouth are covered with a bag having a hole through which the testing swab can be passed, and the swab is inserted through the hole from the surface of the bag into the nasopharynx for collecting the sample, and therefore, the droplets scattered by cough and/or sneeze during the test are prevented from being scattered out of the bag, thereby an infection to a practitioner carrying out the test can be prevented.

A full face respirator comprising a mask (10) having a transparent viewing portion (12) and a port portion (16), and exhalation port (22) disposed in said port portion (16), a face seal configured (14) to seal the mask (10) over a wearer's eyes, nose and mouth, in use, and an orinasal assembly (2) including a flexible, cup-shaped orinasal (2) having an orifice (2a) and being configured to fit over a wearer's nose and mouth, in use; wherein the orinasal assembly (2) further includes generally tubular connecting portion (24), integrally formed with and extending outwardly from the periphery of the orifice (2a), the connection portion (24) being shaped and configured to extend through the exhalation port (22) from the inner region to the outer region of the mask (10) and including an exhalation valve mount (28) for receiving a one-way exhalation valve (4).

A full face respirator comprising a mask (10) having a transparent viewing portion (12) and a port portion (16), and exhalation port (22) disposed in said port portion (16), a face seal configured (14) to seal the mask (10) over a wearer's eyes, nose and mouth, in use, and an orinasal assembly (2) including a flexible, cup-shaped orinasal (2) having an orifice (2a) and being configured to fit over a wearer's nose and mouth, in use; wherein the orinasal assembly (2) further includes generally tubular connecting portion (24), integrally formed with and extending outwardly from the periphery of the orifice (2a), the connection portion (24) being shaped and configured to extend through the exhalation port (22) from the inner region to the outer region of the mask (10) and including an exhalation valve mount (28) for receiving a one-way exhalation valve (4).

A negative pressure respirator assembly may have an exchangeable filter elements, at least one intake valve, a facepiece body comprising a headband and a face shield, an outflow valve, an outflow tube coupled to the outflow valve, the outflow tube directing exhaust in at least one direction selected from the group consisting of parallel to the user's torso and down the user's shirt, into the user's personal protective equipment, and over the user's shoulder.
