A pendent face mask is adapted to transition between a facially protective state and a folded state. The pendent face mask includes a foldable, air-permeable facial cover, a plurality of guides, and a suspension system. The suspension system suspends the facial cover in the folded state from a user's neck, and adjustably secures the facial cover in contact with the user's face in the facially protective state. The suspension system includes left and right segments that are drawable to form left and right ear loops.

Provided is a protective mask that includes one or more layers of an air-permeable aerogel. The aerogel can be nonmetallic, metallic, metallic oxide, semi-conductive, or any combination thereof. The protective mask can include a nonmetallic interior layer and a metallic or metallic oxide exterior layer surrounding the nonmetallic interior layer. Alternatively, the facemask can include a semi-conductive layer, a power source, and a customizable switch. The pore size of the aerogel can be selected from a size ranging from <1 to 100 nanometers based on intended use. One or more layers can be incorporated into a facemask or respirator filter to protect a user from nanometric airborne particles, harmful chemicals used in industry, and the like. The filter is reusable and the pore size can be customized to deny entry to almost any size of particulate that is desired.

A combination of nanoparticles applied onto a mask filtration system, exemplarily including 1%-10% graphene; 1%-10% titanium dioxide; 1%-10% zinc oxide; 1%-10% copper oxide; 1%-10% silicon dioxide; and balance solvent is provided.

A respiration filtering face mask that can be washed and sterilized by common means and reused repeatedly comprised of a filtering component that is a laminate of at least one layer of particle filtering material and at least one layer of a microbe killing metallic woven cloth laminated together by adhesive or fusible material in a manner that allows low resistance to air flow, cut to a shape that is folded into a modified cone, a padding filled gasket that is continuously sealed to the outer edge of the filter cone, harness straps that are elastic and user adjustable for length and tension, and an attached shield to prevent fogging of eye ware. A method of treating a spinal disk according to the present invention can include inserting an alloplastic bulking agent into the spinal disk to treat the defect. The alloplastic bulking agent has a plurality of microparticles and a suspending agent comprising hyaluronic acid. The bulking agent results in at least one of sealing the defect, increasing a pressure of the disk, increasing a height of the disk, improving stability of the disk and improving structural integrity of the disk.

A face mask and a removable insert, the insert being constructed primarily of cidal metal or cidal metal alloy wherein the cidal metal or cidal metal alloy is the major structural component of the insert. The insert is positioned on the face mask to cover at least a portion of the wearer's mouth and nose when the mask is worn on the wearer's face. A system and method for a face mask communication system. The face mask communication system includes a removable microphone that can be installed in a face mask to allow the wearer to clearly and privately communicate with another user over a Bluetooth enabled mobile device such as a cell phone. In illustrated examples, a microphone unit is deformable to enable the microphone unit to form a custom fit over the nose bridge to seal the mask on the user's face. The face mask communication system includes an application program operating on the mobile device that allows a user to initiate and secure private conversations with other users.

The present invention relates to a nose-fitting adjuster. Particularly, the present invention relates to a nose-fitting adjuster, which can seal, without directly and intensely compressing the nose and a peripheral portion thereof, the corresponding portion, for a device, such as masks, goggles, gas masks, and VR headsets, that includes a portion coming in close contact with the nose region.

Aspects of various embodiments herein may be implemented as follows. An apparatus has a material shell that conforms to a user's face, and a securing portion connected to the shell that may operate to secure a filter to the user's face with the filter covering the user's nose and mouth. A securing force may be applied to the filter via the first material portion in a direction toward the user's face, thereby sealing the filter around the user's nose and mouth. Various implementations involve elastic and other material that facilitate sealing of the filter around the user's nose and mouth.

A face mask is configured in a two-piece form, with an upper portion that covers the nose (and remains in place at all times) and a lower portion that covers the mouth, where the lower portion may be moved (released) to expose the mouth area, without needing to completely remove the mask, as typical in the prior art. A releasable attachment is formed between the bottom area of the upper portion and the top area of the lower portion. The releasable attachment may take many forms, such as a hook-and-loop arrangement, a releasable adhesive, snap connections, and the like.
