A safety harness for vertically lifting of a user is provided. The safety harness includes an upper body harness and a lower body harness which may be positioned on liners within a coat and pants of the user, respectively. The upper body harness and lower body harness attach together to function as a Class III harness enabling lifting of a user in a vertical orientation by virtue of the harness geometry. The lower body harness alone serves as a Class II harness and the upper body harness alone serves as a drag line. The harness is particularly suited to be integrated with firefighting turnout gear for ready donning with the turnout gear.

A fall arrest harness having a primary arrest attachment attached to a dorsal portion of a harness by a dorsal release strap, a releasable friction device positioned at a hip location of the harness and a repositioning tether releasably connected to the primary fall arrest attachment. The harness provides manual and controllable transfer of a suspension point from a dorsal location by letting out the dorsal release strap through the releasable friction device until tension from a user's weight is transferred from the dorsal release strap to the repositioning tether.

SELF-ADJUSTING SAFETY HARNESS

A leg strap of a safety harness has a first end with a movement-permitting connector, a second end attached to an upper portion of the harness, and an intermediate portion formed into a loop and slidably extending through the connector. The leg strap thereby forms a leg loop portion and a tensioning riser portion each having a variable length, so that in use when wearers reposition themselves the portion of the leg strap forming the leg loop is automatically adjusted for comfort. Some embodiments include seat panels with bottom portions forming a segment of the leg straps and leg loops.

A Support Device

A support device for a harness includes a dorsal member configured for arrangement on a dorsal region of a wearer and for operative engagement with the harness in a position in which the dorsal member is interposed between straps of the harness and the dorsal region of the wearer, the dorsal member having an upper portion, a lower portion and an intermediate portion interposed between the upper and lower portions. A neck support member extends from the upper portion of the dorsal member and is configured to support a neck of the wearer when the dorsal member is arranged on the dorsal region of the wearer. The dorsal member has a profile that corresponds to a generic side profile of a thoracic spine of the wearer and the neck member extends backwardly from the upper portion of the dorsal member, such that the dorsal member can distribute pressure exerted by the straps and the neck support member can cradle the neck and support the head in a tilted back condition.

FALL-PROTECTION APPARATUS WITH MULTIMODAL INDUCTIVE SENSING

A fall-protection apparatus comprising at least one connector that comprises a resonant-frequency-shifting inductive sensing unit that is configured to detect whether the connector appears to be connected to a first item and is further configured to detect whether the connector appears to be connected to a second, different item.

Fall Arrest System

A fall arrest system having elastic properties includes a torso harness system, a tether, and a securement system wherein, during use, the tether detachably couples the torso harness system to the securement system. As such, the fall arrest system is configured to arrest the fall of the user.

Method of rescuing a subject positioned in a vehicle and a rescue device

A rescue device for moving a subject includes a brace member for securing the arms and the torso of the subject together. The brace member includes a central section, a first lateral section and a second lateral section, and a fastener. The brace member is capable of forming a loop for securing the arms and the torso of the subject together by fastening the first lateral section to the second lateral section with the fastener. A ribbon member pair for moving and/or stabilizing a subject wearing the brace member when said rescue device is in use includes a first ribbon member having a first portion connected to the brace member and a second ribbon member having a second portion connected to the brace member.
