Fall Alerting Assembly
20230001242 · 2023-01-05 ·

A fall alerting assembly for contacting emergency responders when a user falls from an elevated location includes a personal electronic device that is in wireless communication with an extrinsic communication network. A body harness is wearable on a body of a user, an attachment is movably coupled to the body harness and the attachment is attachable to a safety line. A cord is coupled to the attachment, a fall unit is integrated into the body harness and the cord is removably coupled to the fall unit. The cord breaks away from the fall unit when the user falls from the elevated location. Additionally, the fall unit broadcasts an alert signal to the personal electronic device when the cord breaks away from the fall unit to alert emergency responders to assist the user.

Tensioning device

A safety interlock system includes a safety harness comprising a plurality of buckles to secure the harness to a user and a safety attachment ring. A fall-arrest belt clip is configured to be releasably attached to the safety attachment ring, the fall-arrest belt clip attached to a fall-arrest tether of a machine. The system further includes a safety interlock means for disabling an operation of the machine when the fall-arrest clip is detached from the safety attachment ring, the machine coupled to the fall-arrest tether.

HARNESS ADAPTER SYSTEM LOAD BAR
20220370840 · 2022-11-24 ·

A load bar having a straight pipe body disposed between two opposite end sections, wherein the pipe body has a radial cross section; and two end loops, each end loop having a radial cross section and being disposed on a different end section of the load bar, wherein the radial cross sections of the two end loops are parallel with each other and perpendicular to the radial cross section of the pipe body. The load bar may be implemented within the harness adapter connector portion of a harness adapter system in order to prevent the compressive force from an attached load from being exerted on a secured lineman. Utilization of this load bar may increase the safe load limit while securing a lineman from 500 lbs. to 2000 lbs., effectively broadening the application for the harness adapter system. The load bar may also be used with lighter loads to prevent lineman discomfort.

FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM

A fall protection system includes a mast assembly including a fixed mast section, a movable mast section, and a winch assembly. The fall protection system further includes a locking mechanism adapted to lock the movable mast section relative to the fixed mast section. The locking mechanism includes a locking pawl connected to the winch assembly. The locking pawl is adapted to rotate between an engaged position and a disengaged position. The locking pawl engages with the fixed mast section in the engaged position to prevent relative movement between the fixed mast section and the movable mast section. The locking mechanism also includes at least one spring adapted to bias the locking pawl towards the engaged position. Further, the winch assembly is adapted to retain the locking pawl in the disengaged position against the biasing of the at least one spring based on a tension selectively applied by the winch assembly.

Harness back plate and strap arrangement

A wearable body harness has first and second shoulder straps arranged in an X-shape, a back plate on a rear portion of the shoulder straps with the first shoulder strap crossing over the second at the back plate. The back plate includes a pair of lower guide slots, having a first lower guide slot side and a second lower guide slot side contiguous with the first and arranged at an angle relative thereto, and a pair of upper guide slots, having a first upper guide slot side and a second upper guide slot side contiguous with the first and arranged at an angle relative thereto. A first of the pair of upper and lower guide slots route a webbing material of the first shoulder strap. A second of the pair of upper and the pair of lower guide slots route the webbing material of the second shoulder strap.

Safety Harness with Self-Locking Dorsal Brace

A fall-protection safety harness including left and right shoulder straps and a waist strap, and a dorsal plate mounted on the left and right shoulder straps at a dorsal crossing point. A dorsal brace for use with such a harness, the brace comprising a self-locking fastener at the upper end of the dorsal brace. The fastener is fastenable, and self-locking, to the dorsal plate, and a lower end of the dorsal brace is connectable to the waist strap. Methods of equipping a safety harness with the dorsal brace.

Safety Harness Motion Detector Systems and Methods for Use

In an illustrative embodiment, systems and methods for verifying safety compliance of a worker positioned on a building structure utilize a motion detector module (MDM) for attaching to a wearable safety harness, where the harness has a lifeline attachment feature for connecting the safety harness to a lifeline anchored to the building structure. The MDM may include a motion sensor for detecting movement of the worker and processing circuitry for detecting, from signals provided by the motion sensor, significant movement indicative of the safety harness being properly worn by the worker and/or proper attachment of the safety harness to a lifeline, and translating the significant movements into compliance information. The MDM may include a proximate sensor for detecting contact between the attachment feature on the harness and a fastener on the lifeline for verifying the compliance information.
