SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING THE CONDITION OF A FALL - PROTECTION SAFETY SYSTEM
Systems and methods for monitoring and reporting the condition of a permanent fall-protection safety system. The systems and methods use a sensor to obtain data corresponding to a physical state of at least one component of the safety system, the at least one component and the sensor being at a remote location and/or at an elevated height, relative to a base unit. The systems and methods further include wirelessly transmitting the data to the base unit, processing the data to reach an indication of a change in a physical state of the at least one component of the safety system, and reporting the condition of the safety system based on the indication of the physical state of the at least one component of the safety system.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SECURING A VERTICAL LINE
An anchor is provided for securing a strand from a wall aperture having a maximum height dimension and a maximum width dimension greater than the maximum height dimension. The anchor has an anchor body member having a first wall engagement surface on a lateral side there-of and a strand-securing aperture. A first hook member is attached to the anchor body member, extends laterally therefrom, and has a second wall engagement surface that intersects and is perpendicular to the first wall engagement surface. A second hook member attached to the first hook member has a longitudinal hook length and a third wall engagement surface parallel to, spaced apart from and opposing the first wall engagement surface. The first and third engagement surfaces define a slot with a width greater than the wall thickness. The longitudinal hook length is less than the maximum aperture width and greater than the maximum aperture height.
High load descender with adaptive release linkage
A high load descender for rope access and rescue has a ratcheting sheave mounted to a pivoting arm, which translate with rope tension against a fixed shoe. The ratcheting sheave has a groove that grips rope during descent while allowing free rotation for ascent and progress capture. An adaptive release linkage enhances ease of operation and control while maintaining convenient handle position in a variety of conditions.
SAFETY CLIMB ATTENUATION APPARATUS
A safety climb attenuation apparatus provides a more robust and visually inspectable apparatus for climbing safety. In an upper bracket, a pivot arm is attached to a base that is disposed upon a structure. The upper bracket includes an attenuation member such as an elastic bushing, mounted on the pivot arm or the base, that resists pivoting of the pivot arm relative to the base when a safety cable attached to the pivot arm causes the pivot arm to pivot. In a lower bracket, a similar attenuation member is attached to a base disposed on the structure, with an anchor bolt connecting the cable to the attenuation member so that the attenuation member resists upward movement of the cable.
FALL PROTECTION LOCKING SYSTEM
A locking system for fall protection and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. An example locking system includes a housing. The housing defines a guide path through which the housing is slideably attached to a guide member. The locking system also includes a braking lever having a braking end that is configured to engage the guide member. The braking lever includes a shock absorber configured to deform during a fall instance. The locking system further includes a secondary braking feature configured independent from the braking lever. The secondary braking feature is an inertial structure configured to rotate into engagement with the guide member during the fall instance. A corresponding method of manufacturing is also provided.
COLLAR FOR SAFETY HARNESS FOR THE PROTECTION OF PERSONNEL WORKING AT HEIGHTS, IN CASE OF FALLS
A safety harness collar for the protection of personnel working at heights, in the event of falls, consisting of a substantially curved body made up of a plurality of layers of various synthetic or organic materials rolled or inlaid, housed in a containment cover that offers a certain hardness and at the same time a certain flexibility and cushioning which includes at least two fixing means to fix on the straps of a harness that pass through the shoulders of a user and intersect in the front and rear area of the user, to hold on and be arranged around the nape of the neck and sides of the neck to offer support and limit the abrupt movement of the neck towards the back of the user to avoid damage to the cervical vertebrae and even the death of the user in the event of a fall.
FALL ARREST SYSTEM
A fall arrest system includes a ladder configured to provide access to an elevated structure and a fall arrest device configured to be secured to the elevated structure, the fall arrest device including an upper anchor, the upper anchor including a first end configured to be secured to the elevated structure and a second end distal from the first end.
LADDER DOCK
A ladder dock system can include a ladder dock including a mounting panel and a connecting panel connected to the mounting panel, the ladder dock defining a ladder notch. The ladder dock system can further include a ladder configured to provide access to an elevated structure and sized to rest against the ladder dock, the ladder notch sized to receive and fix a position of the ladder relative to the ladder dock.
Shuttle For A Climbing Protection System
A shuttle (20) for a climbing protection system (10) is provided and includes a clamping member (26) mounted on a frame (22) for movement between a an opening position, a free position wherein the shuttle (20) can move freely along an elongate support member (12), and a clamping position wherein the clamping member (26) resists movement of the shuttle (20) relative to the elongate support member (12), and an anti-inversion member (30) mounted on the frame (22) for movement between a first closed position blocking insertion of the elongate support member (12) and an open position where the anti-inversion member (30) does not block insertion of the elongate support member (12). The anti-inversion member movable from the open position to the closed position when the shuttle (20) is moved from a desired orientation to a non-desired orientation relative to gravity with the clamping member (26) in the opening position and wherein the clamping member (26) and the anti-inversion member (30) are engaged to maintain the clamping member (26) in the opening position when the shuttle (20) is in the non-desired orientation.
ELEVATED HORIZONTAL SAFETY LIFELINE APPARATUS AND METHOD
An apparatus including a lifeline having a first end and an opposing second end; a support structure, wherein the first end and the second end of the lifeline are supported by the support structure such that there is a distance between the first end and the opposing second end; and a structure for holding one or more persons above a ground surface; wherein the support structure is configured to be moved without causing the structure for holding one or more persons to be moved; and the structure for holding one or more persons be configured to be moved without causing the support structure to be moved. The support structure may include first and second posts; wherein each of the first and second posts be configured to be adjusted in height above a ground surface to cause a height of the lifeline above the ground surface to be adjusted.
